After the left turn is completed I have to manually click it off. When you make a real hard left turn (almost to the point of a u turn) It will click off by itself, but a normal left hand turn will not make it click off.
What could be the problem?

it located near the back of the fuse block to the right of it mounted to a metal bracket. its hard to see and a tough one to get to. remove the lower portion of the dash under the steering wheel and its just to the left of the column.. hope this helps......
Hopefully you still have you manual. I will tell you how to reset the HHR, I found it in my manual. Turn the key to on, press lock and unlock at the same time on your key fob. The horn will beep twice telling you that you are in program mode. The left front turn signal light will come on, press the valve core letting air out of the left front tire. The horn will beep when left front is programmed. Then the right front turn signal will come on, let air out till horn beeps. Then right rear, same procedure then left rear same procedure. When that is done horn will beep twice again saying tire program is complete. Turn key off, make sure you air all tires back up.
When you select left or right do any of the bulbs come on? If you select left check front and back left side if one of the bulbs did not come on the flasher will not work. Change the bulb that is out. Same with the right. If the fuse for the turn signal is good (check fuse or replace do not use visual, some appear to be good but are not).
The emergency flasher is different from the turn signal flasher. Look at manual for location of turn signal flasher. If you manually lift and lower turn signal control you may hear a clicking under the dash to locate the flasher.
