Question about 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee

1 Answer

I have a 99 jeep grand cherokee. At times it will start up fine and then die. Or it will start and as I'm driving down the road the rpm's will go up and down and then the car stalls and dies. Eventually the problem will go away and I'm back in business. I recently had the starter and water pump replaced but the problem didn't go away. Any ideas?

I have the same exact problems. I have replaced the same things also. It is now making noise like air comming out of a faucet. After further inspection, it seems to be the fuel injection system somewhere and it is causing the fuel injections system to blow its fuse.

You might want to have the fuel pump looked at. have the fuel pressure tested at idle and while driving

Have you scanned the system for fualt codes? An O2 sensor will never cause the engine to stall out like this, NEVER.

My 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Will die going down the road. Sometimes it starts back up without me touching the key.other times I have to wait a few minutes before it will crank again.Any suggestions? Thank...

I've got to be reading this incorrectly...You are driving, the engine turns off...you pull off the road? And then without touching the key the engine re-starts, but you haven't touched the key? Or, sometimes you need to sit there for a few minutes and then turn the key to start it?
