2002 Buick Terraza: The chime/ding continues to go off for no apparent reason... it is faster and louder as driving... while stopped it will decrease speed and volumne. All doors are closed and there are no alarms indicating why it is going off.

I had this happen to me but after I removed the airbag module. I unhooked the battery terminals, unplugged the wire connections to the passenger seat, then removed the seat to gain access to the module.removed it, had it reset then reconnected everything and when I did the chimes were going off for no reason when in gear, just as described. most causes will not be the way I came across the problem but wanted to get this out anyway. basically I had to have someone sit in the seat and verify during checks or calibrate itself, so it had something to do with the diagnostics of the computer, so anyway I hope this will help someone down the road...

Check the seat belts there is wires hook up to them that could be broken or corroded and the door switches could be broken. The speeding up of the chimes would be part of the safety fetcher.

Beeping in terraza 2006

Look up under dash and use a length of hose with one end in your ear to listen to find where the sound is coming from. You should be able to just unplug the chime unit.

you could try another dealer, as long as they are a general motors dealer they can work on cross line models and maybe have a better Technion. it is worth the money as long as they fix it.

I own a 2007 montana and had it for 1 month now ..It keeps making a ding ding ding chime while driving ..The passengers rear door is automatic and when I press the button it makes the same noise but when...

1. Turn off the overhead over-ride switch. Drive again. Do the chimes stop? If yes, the door is not closing properly due to the door contacts. Clean them yourself or have them serviced.
2. If the chimes did not stop in step 1. above, it's not likely the door but rather something else.
3. Chimes occur for many reasons. Suggest checking - a. are the rear back-up warning sensors blocked/dirty? b. any other lights on the dash like oil, abs, airbag, etc? c. passenger side airbag disabled - something heavy placed in passenger seat?

In my experience, it's the automatic door contacts. We have a long history of problems with these auto doors, that are still not resolved. problems all throughout the warranty period, and now into the extended warranty period. We must unite and get GM to resolve the quality of these doors. My next step (next incident) is going to be to have the dealership inspect the entire wiring system.

Sliding driver's side door will not shut on buick terraza

My passenger side door would not close. The mechanic reprogrammed it with the instructions in the handbook. So far it is working OK after one month. Good luck

It may be trying to get your attention for an open door, trunk lid or other item requiring attention. Check your owner's manual for items that can cause it to chime.
