Question about 1987 Toyota 4Runner

Rear window can't get the rear window to go up and down. I know there is a rely for it but way to expensive to replace since the whole circuit board would have to be replaced. Any idea how to do on the cheap?

It is most likely a relay in the circuit board, but it could also be one of the safety switches, of which there are several. One of the safety switches is located on the rear windshield wiper motor mechanism. The window will not operate unless the wiper is fully retracted. Another is under one of the bolts on the left side of the removable hard top, to ensure that when the hardtop is off the window will not operate. Another safety switch is located in the locking mechanism of the tailgate, to ensure that the window will not operate unless the tailgate is closed and locked. Be sure to eliminate the safety switches as possoble causes before digging into the circuit board.

The circuit board is located behind the left, rear, interior side panel, just rear of the driver's door post. It contains four relays, two of which are for the rear window (one for up, one for down). You'll need to install new relays. If you don't know which one(s) to replace, just replace all four, as they're only about $6 each. Any good electronics store should them. Try an Omron part number G5LE-1DC12. This is a simple fix and will save you a bunch of money.

Rear brake light top not working

You must replace the whole light assembly in this year, the part is very expensive and a dealer only item if still avail (which I doubt). You need to drop the headliner down in the rear to access the light fixture assembly by removing the trim at rate of cargo area.

Rear ac in 2006 dodge caravan leaking

This is a common problem with that year. It is the connection at the rear evaporator. The problem is, the connectors are exposed behind the rear passenger side where salt gets in and eats away at it. Some say it's a bad design. You will need to replace the whole evaporator with the connectors. It is expensive, around $400-$600with labor. Some mechanics are able to disconnect the rear completely for half the price but you will have to relie on the front A/C to cool the whole car.

Passenger side power window stopped working entirely

Do you think it is possible that the motor on your power window died? I know these things are cheap, I've had to replace all 4 window regulators on my truck within the past year.because the plastic retainer that holds the wire in place keeps breaking. Most of the time I'm not even in the vehicle when it happens and I go out to it and the window is down. You can buy the whole window regulator or just the motor by itself which I'm sure is way less expensive.

Driver rear window does not work

this is kinda expensive. however it can start cheap if you know what you doing. with my mustang i did it in 3 steps to pinpoint the prob. first i checked motor. i took the regulater off and checked the motor itself. then put the reg back on and checked again with a voltmeter. moved up to the switch and check that out with a volt meter. the volt meter said it was getting power to go down but not up. there for i paid the $12 for a new switch. try this process and see if it works for you. good luck bro.

1999 Ford Explorer Turn Marker

What exactly do you mean by everything ese works?
Do you have directionals indicating on the instument panel?
do you have front signals and no rear or vice versa or do you not have any directionals and no emergency flashers?

If you do not have any type of flasher you need to replace the flasher relay in the fuse panel.
If you have emergency flashers and your front signal work but rear do not the primary culprit may be the integrated circuit board that are attached to the composite tail lenses. You can buy the circuit board portion seperate from the tail lense and at a cheaper rate than buying the whole unit. Dealers try to sell the unit as a whole so you might want to pursue other avenues first..

I had this problem on my discovery 300 tdi, behind the gove box is a black box bolted onto the small bulkhead if you open this, you will find a circuit board with 2 plugs going into it, this is the ecu for the windows you will find that there will be a dry soldier joint on the circuit board just check this, my discovery had the same problem, re-soldiered the circuit board and all works fine.

If you google for landrover forums you will find the answer on there.

hope this helps.
