The s tells you to shift gears...i assume its a standard...the s just acts to remind you its time to shift from one gear to another,

I amcurrently searching for a diagram to wire up my RPM gage but I don't know where to put the wires!!!! I really need help!! thx:)

The RPM guage (tachometer) reads the spark impulses from ground terminal of the high voltage sending unit. I've never had to install a tach on an Accent, but for the most part the wire (on other model Hyundai's) is green and connects to the distributor primary or negative (-) side of the ignition coil. And then to the Tach terminal. Do not connect to coil on If yours is an MSD ignition, do NOT connect to the coil!!. Some electronic ignitions have a tach terminal on the ignition box, the green wire may connect there. Hpe this helps....

Wiring

there will be a wire that goes to to power. then ground im sure you know that. also possibly a wire for your lighting. just splice that into the pwr wire coming off the dimmer. to get rpm's it should be a green wire coming off your tach connect it to the negative side of your coil pack.

Defective tachometer and speedometer

Do the following:1)key in the ON position:remove the 7.5 gauge fuse.Tach needle should read "0:". 2)put it back,go on the engine and unplug the green plug on the igniter -the big one, with 5 or 6 wires on it.The needle on tach reading should be zero.If not you have a short circuit on the black wire between that plug and the plug on the conbination meter.3) If the reading is zero with the plug disconnected, the black wire for the tach is short-circuited inside the igniter. I've had similiar issues with a different vehicle. I had to purchase new plugs, rotor, and distributor/spark plug wires. I was running on three cylinders verses four. I did not notice until I was going up hills, where it required more power. If you have a tachometer, keep an eye on it. If it is running slower than it should that could be an indication that there is a problem with the wiring. (probably should be doing about 2500 rpm)

I had a Hyundai that did just the opposite. It would peg the tach to 3,000 rpm well before it was time to shift. Ended up being an ignition coil went bad, which takes the place of the distributer. I replaced the ignition coil and now the engine doesn't have to run as high.

1990 honda accord rpm gauge out of wack

You probably have a faulty sensor at the transmission.

Go to your local parts store, and they can give you the part and how to install it. It's pretty easy.
