Question about 1984 Chevrolet Camaro
Looking at the distrubitor from above, you'll see there are 8 points for the plug wires. On the right side you'll see a box where your power, tach, etc.. wires are. Going clockwise, it's the second one from that box. so from the box, the order will be, 2, 1, 8, 4, 3, 6, 5, 7. Agian, that is CLOCKWISE from the input for the coil.

Factory sets the number 1 usually at 4:00 position when you are under the hood looking at it.
