Question about 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix

1 Answer

Car won't start

I have a 98 pontiac grand prix supercharger. I have no spark or anything. The battery is new, the radio and everything works on that.In the last 3 weeks I replaced the battery & the sensor to the fuel pump. Yesterday the car was running and the starter still grinded for now reason. What all does it sound like it could be? how can i tell if it is the starter, ignition or what else? my car also has 138K on it. Thank you

Almost sounds like it's a bad PCM (computer). Need more information from u tho.

Glad to hear the starter fixed the problem but the starter won't create a "no spark" situation like u said u had.

98 grand prix 3.8 non-supercharge starts but wont stay running have to keep foot on gas pedal to stay running blows out white some trough the exhaust. no coolant in oil what is causing this

If it is blowing thick white smoke that is coolant. You can lose a head gasket in places where only coolant passages go through so you don't always get oil/coolant mixing when this happens. Take the radiator cap off and see if air bubbles through it. You can also try pulling the spark plugs to see if one or more looks really clean.

2004 Pontiac grand prix gtp won't start- fully

You need a new starter solenoid. It is essentially a heavy duty remote switch that is activated by your ignition key switch. The solenoids get stuck or don't conduct well after 6 to10 years.

Check engine light on,code po 300 random multiple cylinder misfire,i replaced the plugs and wires ,its a 98 grand prix supercharged,it runs good except for the engine light, can i reset it?

you don`t say if after you replaced components the miss fire was may have the problem still there as on these cars the light will go out when the problem is fixed.however you can reset the light with a scan tool or disconnect the battery for a minute.record your radio stations as they will have to be reset.the procedure to reset radio is in your owners manual.
