I believe you're dealing with two separate issues...

1: Something "Popping"... Take a look at the inner bushings on the lower control arms. They may be worn and allowed to slide forward and back. This was the case on my 2000 LHS. New part was only $45 and it took less than an hour to change each side.

2: Something "Rubbing"... My best guess would be to look at the rubber that surrounds the rack&pinion as it comes through the inner fender. That flap (those flaps) often tear off and might be rubbing on the inside of your right wheel as you turn left.

When I make a left turn only, and break, it sounds like something is rubbing or grinding. If I turn left without breaking, I don't hear anything. No noises when turning right or braking while driv

If the problem is as bad as it sounds, you may be close to parking it until fixed.
Normally, if you turn left, your are "loading" the right side, and visa-versa.
Think of it this way.
Picture a car going fast around a turn. The wheel on the inside of the turn might actually lift off of the ground, it is "unloaded".
With that thought in mind, look closely at the right front wheel. Start with the brake pads and /or rotor ( what the brake pads rub on to stop the car.)
Check the rotor inside and out. A good flashlight will do.
Pull the right front wheel and see if the pads are worn out or the rotor is no longer smooth, but "torn up" on the inside or the outside.
If the pads and the rotor is fine, next look at the wheel bearings.
This will be a bigger problem, probably a shop needs to check this out.

Protege5 maual trans makes a rubbing thumping kind of sound when you coast with the car in gear when you put clutch in it stops also makes noise when you turn a little left makes no noise though when you...

Does it make this noise every time you push in on the clutch, or just when coasting?
If it always makes noise when you push in the clutch, it could be the throw out bearing.
But if only coasting and not when turning left a little, then a front wheel bearing is more likely.
The brake will also wear faster, get hotter, feel a little spongy at first hit, and the brake pedal will vibrate if the wheel bearing is going. But if it is a wheel bearing, you can wait until it is worse.

2003 camry with 200,000 miles has rubbing noise not the brakes wondering if a cv joint or u joint problem

If you have a rubbing noise on the BRAKES then its most likely the pads worn out and touching the metal backing plate ,other wise it could be the wheel bearing worn or coming loose but the CV Joint if worn will make a clanking noise when turned on full lock either Left or Right.
So jack it up at the front and check the wheel bearings and turn the wheel to see if the noise is there as it will be a metal to metal noise ,but if pads are good then it will just be a soft rubbing noise.

When i turn left ,right , also when i back up and slightly turn the wheel it makes a noise like something is rubbing

Have you had your brakes worked on lately?
Mercs are bad about losing bolts out of the brake calipers especially after a repair job.
Get this checked out by a pro ASAP it could be dangerous!

Front end squeaking possible rotor rubbing something.

Have you checked the metal clips that olds the brake pads in the front galiper bracket. They usualy rust, break loose and come in contact whit the disc, creating a squeaking noise. Those should be replace since they are needed for the brakes to work properly
