Question about 2001 Nissan Altima

97 nissan altime

Yes it has the proper freon level. I used the a/c machine and charged it with .75 kilograms, that is what the book and sticker under the hood calls for. I was wandering if the thermo switch behind the glove box may be the problem. Also is this a blend air system, possible problem with the door opening. thank you for your time.

If you have an AUTO a/c setup, than yes there is an amplifier mounted into the air box along with the blower motor resistor. This system has mode door inside the air box , but I don't think that's your problem, because your compressor is not coming on right?? Explain to me one more time, what is exactly is happening w/ the A/C. Be specific. Let me know what year this is also. I have seen the wire that goes into the compressor brake right at the compressor, that is if your Altima is pre 1998. Let me know.

A.C blows cold in 97 Nissan 4X4 truck, then warm, but back cold when restart engine

That's strange. I would first start off by checking your Freon level. Buy one of those recharge kits at your local auto parts store. One with a gauge on it. Your truck should have134a refrigerant http://www.techchoiceparts.com/refrigerant-and-oil-capacities/nissan . If you levels are good than it might be your a.c. relay. That should be in a fuse box under the hood. I'm not all certain about the relay though, just giving out ideas.

My a/c isn't blowing cool air

First thing to check is for the proper amount of freon in the system. If the charge is low... no cool air will be produced. You will need to have a shop check this level and its operating pressures with special AC equipment

A/C compressor kicks on and then immediately kicks off. We were trying to add freon and the pressure went way up. I stopped, but the compressor won't stay on now.

ur high pressure switch is kicking ur compressor off, legally by law u need to have ur system evacuated then re charged,, u cant put any more in if system is full,,,u have to let some out,,how u do that is up to u,,u should find out how much the system holds,,sometimes there is a 134a\c sticker under hood or on passenger side strut tower that will tell u,,,drain it completely,,then ad the proper amount,,,,hope it helped,,

My 97 2.0 jetta's a/c went out without warning. The compressor doesn't come on or anything. I thought it might be a fuse. Can you tell me where it might be located? Thank you.

It's in the fuse box under the driver side dash, usually a 30amp fuse. There is also a relay for the A/C, it is in the fusebox also.

97 Altima dashboard brake light stays on

Check your brake fluid level in the engine compartment. Its located on the rear RH side of the engine compartment, its a white/clear resevoir connecting to a large black circular object. If the fluid is low, fill to proper level, also I would recommend having your brake system checked as there may be a leak. If the fluid is fine and at the proper level, you may have a damaged/broken brake fluid level sensor or damaged/broken Emergency brake switch. Hopefully this helps....please rate thanks!!
