Question about Chevrolet Corvette

1 Answer

I forgot to put the car in reverse when i parked it, and now it discharged the battery and i am no longer able to get into my car. I can't unlock it because the locking is automatic and is not working. How do you get back in the car? I have a 2004 version corvette.

Can the car alarm kill your battery but you can start the car but after you turn it off battey died again

sure, if you let the alarm drain the battery, this can destroy any stock battery.
The car batteries are not like golf carts and are not deep discharge rated. (so can be damaged)
so charge the battery, if it wont hold a charge, it is bad.
if it discharges silently, and darkly parked , that is phantom discharge
if is discharges , driving that is a engine charge system failure.
parked over night discharging is phantom discharging.
if the alarm goes off and stays in alarm , then dont use, it.
if the battery is happy with the alarm defeated then the Alarm is bad.

The battery measure 12.6vdc charged,(rested) "voltmeter"
and running measures, 13.3 to 15vdc at idle.

this one tool can solve this problem

How do I put my Lincoln navigator into reverse if my car won't start?

is the battery totally dead if it is you will not be able to take it out of park because you need electric power. if you have power then you should be able to move the shift selector if you hold on the brake and turn on the key. but if just want to move it u will need to put in neutral.

Transmission will not go into drive or reverse, have to shut engine off to get in park to keep it from grinding

Someone added a fuse to the BeCM that is not suppose to add. Take the fuse #11 out and leave it out. Adding a fuse there will have the transfer case in neutral and the transmission will no longer shift .

Battery discharge and my car can not shift from park to reeverse

ok, this question is vey brief and does not ask specific enough, but i will assist with it

if the battery is discharged, then you will not be able to move it out of park, this is due to a shift lock solenoid that is being incorporated into cars now.
it came about by kids jumping into the front seat starting the car and putting it into reverse

now it requires the igntion on, but the brake pedal pressed as well.

now the the ignition on is a problem if the battery is discharged, becasue the shift lock solenoid is not receiving this input and therefore you are stuck in park

there is a shift lock solenoid overirde on some cars, but i dont belive there is one on yours

SECONDLY
battery discharged, whether it was caused by leaving the lights on, a faulty battery, or an faulty charging system(alternator) is a guess

i hope this helps

Well when I drive the car for a bit, and it is warmed up when I start to decelerate coming to a stop the car will **** and when I come to a complete stop it will start jerking and then die. If I put it in...

In my opinion it could be:
1. Battery discharged
2. Battery connections loose or corroded
3.Air filter element dirty or clogged
4.Fuel injection system dirty or clogged

I would go for this last and check the air intake meter, clean the injectors, etc.

MY BATTERY DISCHARGES AFTER 3/4 DAYS PARKED

My 1992 Park Avenue had a timed relay that shorted out. This is the one that allows you to have the radio on etc. until you open the door. It shorted closed and discharged the battery. It took awhile for the shop to find the cure but once they replaced the relay all worked great.
