The O/D light flashing is an indication of a transmission electrical fault. The powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the electronic sensors and actuators on the engine and PCM. If it finds a fault on these circuits, it will alert the driver. Since the O/D light is flashing, the fault is specific to the transmission. You'll will need to have the codes checked in the PCM before any repairs are attempted.

Turns out it was a fuse under the hood. It was causing the light to flash, the vehicle to make a loud clunk noise when stopping, and it made the pressure build up so that it looked like my transmission fluid was too full. Yes it could`ve been the tranny thank goodness it wasn`t. THANKS .
OD and Check Engine lights both are on.
replaced transmission 4 years ago...
paid 300 for solenoid sensor
didn't fix it..told it was either cam shaft sensor or a new transmission, but couldn't guarantee which one=
any ideas?

OD light flashing, service engine light on, car is having trouble shifting. Had fluid in transmission changed a few months ago. Problem just started. Am I about to lose the transmission? My car is a 2003 explorer. Is this common.
