1986 honda civic hatchback timingbelt replacement need to know the marks for the timing shaft and crankshaft ... top dead center doesnt help


the red mark is where the timing is supposed to be after u have bypassed the electronic advance.the first white line on the left is tdc.

it is best to do it just for piece of mind why go to all the trouble just to save a few quid as if it goes its most likely a new engine

Timingbelt will the moter be damaged if the belt breaks


Depends which engine you have, the 16 valve motors will be damaged, the 8 valve will not.

60,000 is the recommended miles, but they will go 90,000 in most cases depending on how easy the car is driven, around town more often.

absolutely nothing at all... if the timing belt wasnt installed properly it would bend valves or run rough.. but NOT have a thing to do with fuel injection system
