I own a 1995 Passport for only 3-4 months and its been one problem after another, this time for some reason the car would start but before I could even put it in drive the car shut off on me, after trying to start it again this loud clicking noise came from the engine. I have been calling all around and noone has been able to figure this out, any help at all will be appreciated.

You might want to get it checked and see if its throwing a rod or one of the lifters is goingf out

Eek that doesn't sound good at all! I have owned my passport for 5 yrs and it never made that sound I would get a diagnostic on it.

Clicking noise when trying to start, replaced battery and starter. Still makes clicking noise. Can someone please help me figure out what is wrong?

Did you clean your cables? Sounds like a bad connection if you have a new battery and starter. Make sure your ground connection from the battery to frame is clean and tight as well.

Have the starter or solenoid checked. It's possible to get second hand parts from a Salvage/Breakers yard. If you don't mind getting dirty and can use basic hand tool. You may want to invest in a Repair Manual: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/156392336X/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=toyota0d-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=156392336X It can be very useful for a DIY'er .

I have a loud clicking, tapping noise coming from my 1997 F150 4.2 liter engine truck while it is running. The noise gets faster as I increase throttle. When it first started this I had a lot of white...

The valves may need to be adjusted, sounds as if one has become a little loose. If not, one of the valves may be sticking. I would drain about 1 1/2 quarts of oil from the engine, put in a engine cleaner and run for about 5 min then drain all the oil. You may have to do this only once, but if the valve is sticking badly it may take another cleaning. It will cost a little to clean the engine $20 or so but not as much paying someone to break it down to do the same thing. Good Luck.

Whoopie cushon/balloon noise

Try disconnecting the air intake and see what happens (that won't harm the engine). I don't believe it will harm the engine w/ this noise, although it might be a little embarrassing. They have been using corn to make gasoline, I wonder if they started using beans?
Let me know the results and any new clues you may think of or the truck may develop. Have someone under the hood when u shut truck off to see it they can figure exactly where it's coming from. Beano in the gas tank? No, No, don't do that. countrycurt0
