Hi, what voltage is the alternator putting out? Put a voltmeter across the battery - it should be reading between 13.8 to 14.4volts. Any more than this and the regulator unit on the alternator is likely to be faulty. Normally a cheap fix

How do I change a alternador in my 1999 plymoth Breeze 2.0

1 remove battery cables from battery 2 disconnect wires from alternator 3 loosen belt with the belt tensioner it will probly take a 3/8 drive ratchet to loosen the tensioner by putting the end that normaly goes into socket into a square hole in tensioner( just move tensioner far enough to slip belt off alternator pully) 4 remove bolts from alternator 5 put new alternator in place and put bolts in 6 put belt back over pulley 7 plug wires back on alternator 8 reconnect battery

My battery is fully charged, the alternator is new. if i disconect the battery the truck will shut down....What do i need to check for???

First off, never disconnect battery when vehicle is running. It could stress out the alternator and blow the diodes. Now you need to put a volt meter on the battery while the vehicle is running to see if the alternator is putting out 14 volts. If its putting out 12 or less, you have likely blown the alternator. Remove alternator and have tested free at Orielys or napa. I dont trust autozone.

Battery dieing

I had an exact problem to yours...solution...First find out at what RPM your alternator is turning because most alternators need a minimum rpm to put out current...if your idle is too low, the alternator won't charge...you might have to re-adjust your TPS sensor to adjust your idle....if that's ok, then have your alternator checked for the amount of current it's putting out...mine was tested at 2000 rpm and was putting out -6 amps ( yes, that's right, I said...negative 6 AMPS)....it certainly won't charge anything like that....I ended up replacing my alternator to solve the problem...but before you do...you should have other tests done before spending money on an alternator....good luck.....silvio

Alternator

Answer Use a large wrench to take tension off of your serpentine belt and remove the belt from the alternator, (just the alternator). Disconnect the wires. Remove the bolts then the alternator. Put new alternator in place using old bolts. Replace wires (may only be one wire, depending on the alternator). Get your large wrench back out, put the belt back on the alternator, and your good to go. this should do it.
