I recommend factory spark plugs check ignition coils while you're at it ( remove boots and check for arking )

I just replaced timing chains on my 5.4 24v engine now after about 30 mins of driving the engine struggles to run as if not running on all cyl at hwy speed ok but in stop start traffic not good

check the valve timing as it indicates a timing problem.
the higher rpm at highway speed indicates that the valve timing is coming correct as the rpm advances the timing in the solenoid actuation but at idle it is out a bit
could be one cam off a tooth
run the fault codes to see if the cam shaft advance operation is working ( wiring , cam shaft position sensor , actuator etc )
check the fuel pressure and injector operations as they may be failing at the lower pulse action

My Toyota Noah 1998 model does not have a spack I swoped coil packs but that same side is still not firing which means that both the coil packs are working properly

Have 1998 toyota camry LE 3.0 5 cylinder. Has been running rough for about 2 weeks. Check engine light came on. Test said spack issue on cylinder 5, Had this problem once and was coil pack. could it be the...

A fuel filter would not have an effect on one cylinder
& you know how long it was in the car
It could be there 3 to 5 years & be just fine

Don't assume that a code last time that pointed you to a bad
coil will happen that way again.

Codes don't really tell you to change anything
You could have a code for #5 & walk a new coil for 4 cyl's
until you get to # 6 now you found the bad one.

You have several coil packs that feed more than one
plug, you have more to consider

I approach this the way I am, as you most likely
can not test anything, because you lack the proper
equipment ,so you have to do things the hard or longer
way of trial & error. Just don't throw money & parts at
it in doing so

Are the O2 Sensors really old? Over 80,000 miles
Do you have any vacuum leaks including exhaust before
the O2 & converter?

You didnt mention whether or not you cleared the codes. Typically you can clear the ECU codes by disconnecting the battery for a few mins and putting it back on. Otherwise you need to use a code reader to clear the codes. The code will not just fix itself once the problem is resolved. You need to clear the codes and then see if the check engine light/code comes back.

On a side, note the misfire can be caused by a few different things. However first reset the codes and see what happens

I have a 2000 Cadillac Deville and I am having engine problems. The engine shakes a lot when I come to a stop. Also when I let go of the gas it still keeps accelerating. And sometimes it when I put it into...

The acceleration problem could be very dangerous as you may know. There could be several reasons for this, and to post any fix would be haphazard and irresponsible on my behalf so I will not post a potential fix/solution. It needs to be checked immediately by an expert, again this is very very dangerous do not drive the car if the accelerator sticks.

The shaking, has the car been tuned up? Plugs, wires, there a check engine light ? Start there.

If the engine is NOT running correctly, it is very possible that the torque converter slip speed could cause a hard bump when you put it into gear, again, this goes back to the shaking issue/engine performance.

GET THE "keeps accelerating after I let go of the gas" ISSUE FIXED BEFORE YOU DRIVE THE CAR. Again get it fixed by an expert. This is not something that can be solved or diagnosed without actually looking at it....

Has no spark at coil have cheaced power comeing to coil is fine c hanged crank senser and cam senser but still no spack timming belt mark line up right it will spark one time when you stop turning engine...

coils might be gone dual in Distributor where the wires lead to is most likely gone ,take off cap and rotor ...unplug the mod dual un screw two or three screws to remove mod dual ...replace ...

No spack to the spack plugs i think it mite be an egtion swich

Trace the secondary wire from the distributor cap to the coil pack.Using a test lamp see if you have voltage to the pack with the key on.if not,you may be correct if you do have voltage the coil is likely defective.Also check the cap and cable connection at the distributor cap
