I have a 2003 Honda Accord-LX with only 26K mileage. I went to the dealer to have my oil change and they advice me as well to change the brake pads on the front wheels. We bought this car in Dec. 2002. it's rarely used as you can see the mileage ran, my wife use this car to her work which is about 3 miles from our home for 3x a week. Is this usual predicament with Honda Cars? I just paid additional $94 for labor of removing pen that was stuck on the airflow of my aircon, and it will cost me additional $220 to have them fix my brake. It's too expensive for us especially the economy we are facing today. I am planning to DIY it myself. please help me.

Brake pads are one of those things that just dont last forever, using excess braking will wear them faster, not a hard or expensive fix to do yourself, just tell an auto parts store year make and model, they will give you the right pads, jack it up remove the wheels, take the old ones out and put the new ones in exactly how the old ones were, sometimes you need to turn rotors, and usually pads come with this gel to put on the pads. maybe 2 hours for the inexperience mechanic.

How to change back brack pads on a honda civic 2.2 diesel,d.cWc How to change Rear brake pads on honda accord

There are several Videos on how the service the rear brakes of the Accord... Do a search on the web - " 2005 honda accord rear brakes".
The most difficult part is removing the Rotors because the screws that hold the rotors on the hub can be difficult to remove. If the Rotors look OK, then you do not have to remove them to put new pads in, but if the Rotors have grooves or otherwise look worn, the they should be replaced. There are vidios on how the remove the Rotors, as well.

I don't think you use a C Clamp on the back brakes, you turn it in with a large flat screwdriver.

How to change rear brake pads for a honda 2007 ridgeline

The 2007 Honda Accord is equipped with four wheel disk brakes. Disk brakes wear down and require regular maintenance. Worn brake pads can cause squeeling and grinding noises, as well as reduced braking power. Improperly maintained brake pads can cause damage to the brake rotors as well as brake failure. Save on labor costs by replacing your own brake

1999 honda accord ex v6

The back brakes on my Honda Accord are disc brakes. After removing the brake cylinder assembly you will see the brake cylinder piston end has a slot in it. The short pin on the back side of the inner brake pad fits into this slot, but also it is used to 'Turn' (clock-wise) the piston back into the cylinder so you fit the assembly back over the new 'thicker' pads. You can not 'press' this piston back into the cylinder.
