The water leaks down into the spark plug holes. Remove the coil packs and spark plug wires, and sop up all the water in the spark plug hole. Leave the plugs in so water does not get into the engine. dry out the wires with an air gun, or just let dry. when everything is totally dry, put everything together and start.

Can water make 2007 volvo xc90 not starting

About a dozen things will make your Volvo not start, but they all point to one of three things that ALL must be there to get the engine to start:
a) fuel
b) air
c) spark
Based on your question, "water" can be involved in any of these three things and stop the process of internal combustion.
Would recommend to check that all of these three things are occurring and that water has not degraded or eliminated any of them. If you just washed your engine bay and now find that the motor will not start - wait and let it dry out. See if you can start it later/then.

Why car wont start on 2000 chevy impala i got new plugs new wires new module but still wont start

Your culprit is most likely an ignition coil, but could be so many different things, such as bad ground connections, bad ECU or simply the ECU fuse. Check all fuses to see if any are burned out. Check all wiring for corrosion. If your engine bay is nice and greasy that's probably NOT the problem. If it is rusty then likely a previous owner or dealer power-washed the engine compartment to make it look new. That's bad news because water pressure can get into almost any electrical device in the compartment, especially the ignition components. Check inside distributor. If you're lucky you may simply need to replace the rotor, if you have one. If not, it's an ignition coil.

Van wont start

why the radiator ? any why how did this start was it running before has anything been done to the engine etc. has the battery been off... most problems with engine not starting is down to the immobiliser.. or a fuse blown in the engine bay. other problems can be the relays for the fuel and injectors these are in the engine bay. turn ignition on and tap the top of them if you hear a click then try to start engine and that is the one you need to replace.

Washed engine bay with a degreaser and water ,car will not start

Remove the distributor cap and blow it out with compressed air to remove the moisture, you more than likely got water in the distributor, this shorts out the spark inside the cap.

Next time you bay wash your car, leave it running. This way the water evaporates instead of settling in or on your engine. Also make sure that you do not have any exposed wires or leaks in your engine prior to trying it again.

Did you wash in the engine bay aswell. If yes, water could have gotton into some of the electrical plugs. It is always important not to use high pressure or direct pressure onto any electrical componants or plugs in the engine bay.Open the bonnet and let the engine bay bake in the sunlight and spray wd40 or an equalivant into the electrical plugs andunits.Make sure ignition is off when doing all this

WILL NOT START

sounds like water ingress to either a control module or the coil pack, check all control box locations eg footwells for water and then check the engine bay for loose or naked wires, dry and clean and possibly cover with a plastic bag etc and it should be fine.

if you washed the engine bay theres a chance you may have got water into the spark plugs or on the distrubutor, remove dizzy cap and remove water from the underside, sum crc products work well at this. usually after the engine gets hot it will evaporate the water away, I hope you don't have an exposed air filter, this could also be wet causing starvation. sum more info would be helpful

2 things, first of all teh distributor cap and rotor go bad causing the car to have spark but not fire, secondly you need to make sure that you are getting fuel to the engine bay, if not then it could be the fuel pump.

In regard to the other gentlemans question, starts but cuts out I would start with the same process and open your fuel flap and make sure there is no water around the filler area as it sounds like you could also have water in your gas. (there is a drain next to the filler neck and it gets clogged over time, then when it rains or you wash your wash, that area fills with water and seeps into the tank)
