My daughter's 2005 Hyundai Elantra's right side mirror part was stolen from the holder...just leaving a big hole and connection cables. 1. Can I reinstall this myself? 2. Can I purchase just the...

you can buy just the heated mirror with a ring to clip it onto the existing mount, its just a push fit.simply connect the 2 wires and push it in the MIDDLE of the glass to pop it back on.(or you could steal one from another car......yes i know, thats how she lost it a left hand for the first offense?)take NO notice of me,in England that's an everyday occurrence. )

The side view mirror of my 2002 Chevy Tahoe is distorted. I see double headlights, etc. What is causing this?

Thanks you for asking your question? I would be glad to help you.
The issue that you are having with this mirror is called separation. It's caused from the silver nitrate backing on the mirror pulling away from the glass. This is a common occurrence in some GM mirrors. Unfortunately the only solution is to replace the glass in the mirror.
You can either purchase a new mirror from the dealer, or you can purchase a used one from a junk yard. However, you may have the same issue with a used mirror in a short while. There is one other option. Some parts stores sell replacement glass with adhesive backs that you can place over top of the existing mirror. It's about 1/3 the price and works just as good!
You may find that GM will only sell the whole mirror assembly and not the glass, if this is the case it will be a fairly expensive repair, from between $90 to 200 for the mirror it self depending on if it's manual or electric and has heat and turn indicator.
Should you need further assistance in the installation of a new mirror please feel free to contact me.

How hard is it to replace the passenger side mirror on my Pacifica

not too hard, behind the mirror on the inside there should be a triangular plastic cover, this will unclip with a little bit of levering with a screwdriver or flat blade.
once removed you should see a few holes in the door frame, in a few of those holes you will see at least 3 bolt heads, undo the bolts making sure you dont drop them inside the door cavity, there will also be a multi wire electric plug that you will have to seperate, the outside mirror can now be removed.
Dont try just replacing the glass as it involves almost destroying the whole mirror assembly, replace the complete mirror assembly

How do i get the rear view mirror back on?

I am assuming you are talking about the interior rear view mirror and not the side rear view mirror. Most auto parts stores sell an adhesive glue to fix the interior rear view mirror. Most of these mirrors have two parts to them. One part is the bracket that glues to the windshield and the other part is the rear view mirror assembly. Before gluing the bracket to the glass check and see how the mirror assembly attaches to the bracket. There will often be a screw that fixed the two together.

How to replace just the glass on my side mirror

Go to any glass shop, they'll cut a new mirror and glue it on top of the old one. Much cheaper than replacing the whole unit (hundreds).

How about just replacing the broken glass instead of the whole mirror head. Here is a site I have used with success, they sell OEM glass mirror lenses.
