The electric driver's seat on my 2000 Ford Explorer will not move

the switch has failed or a combination of the switch and motor. the switch will be the easiest to replaace as you will have to remove and on some vehicle partially disassemble the seat to do the motor. The switch os mounted on the plastic panel which is held to the seat usually by 2 - 4 screws.

Engine light on, stalling, idoling a little high

Two possibilities that I have encountered with my 2000 explorer. First and most likely. One of the two coolant temperature sensors located on the coolant thermostat assembly. It is located under the front left side of the plenum. To save you time and headache, removing the plenum. It is much easier than trying to reassemble the assembly with the plenum in place. The second and less likely, but mine was. On top of the plenum under the shroud is the Idle sensor unit. It is in the center of the plenum. Mine got carbon build-up which eventually led to its failure. Maybe you can luck out and only need to clean the carbon build-up from inside the unit. Hope this helps. I am always amazed at the drastic impact of just one of these sensors failure.
