Try to jump start the truck first it does not mean the starter is out...it could be a weak battery or atternator

Your starter is bad. The silinoid is still working hence the clicking sound.

Car clicks when trying to start but won't start

Does it only click when you try to jump start it? I suggest checking the starter solenoid.

My denali will only click when i try to start it. what could it be?

most likely you have a low battery, try to jump start the truck, you may have to leave the jumper cables hooked up for a wile before trying to start the engine, if after the battery is charged the truck still just clicks, try cleaning the battery terminals, if still no luck you will need to remove the starter and have it tested and repaid.

Go to turn the vehicle on - where the dash lights all light up - then turn to start the truck and things go blank - then I start hearing these "click" "click" "click" sounds

It sounds like what you need to do is check your batteries. Clean the cables and terminals very well, then tried again. If it still won't start your battery might be dead. Jump it or charge it and tried again. If it starts but later I will not start you might have a charging system problem or a bad batteries.

Truck was trying to turn over then it just started; click click. I tried to jump it and same thing; click click.?? solenoid or starter possibly ? It won't start.. This is a diesel 1997 truck

in my experience, your assumsion is correct. most fords also have a stater relay on the fenderwall or firewall. could be a loose connection.

Clicking sound when trying to start

the clicking sound may be the sound of a bad starter or the battery doesnt have enough juice to start the truck try giving a jump start first if that does not work try hitting the starter with a hammer a few times to see if it starts if it does this is a starter problem.if no start check and see if there is power athe possitive wire when trying to start it. because this is an older truck you can check for powere at the solenoid on the fender
