Fisrt time i start my pacifica 2006 the red light oil press come and i stop the engine and start a gaine and the light dont come red

    Hi, I have the same problem. When I start the engine, the light goes on, then off, then on with a chime. If I stop/start, everything is OK (light on then off after 1 to 3 seconds). This morning I tried to go with the light on, assuming it would take a few seconds before the light is off, but after 500 meters, I decided to stop and start again, then no problem. Does anyone knows what is happening? Should I worry and get my car to the dealer for check ? Thank you for your answers.

It takes a second or two for the pressure to build up and turn off the light.

    Hi, I have the same problem, but after the engine starded, the oil light turns on and the car chimes. after a stop and start, the oil light stays of. This morning, I tried to go with the light on for 200 meters and it stayed lit. Stop and start and everything was OK. Should I be worried ? Should I go to the car dealer ? Thanks for answering.

Hello, It could be a rocker arm or a weak hydraulic valve lifter. I would also check the oil level.
