It has controls in wheel, there are no lights that light or are described in the manual...I just got the car and was told the cruse was never used... How can I check to see if it works, what and where do I check????

Air bag light also lit on the instrument cluster ? The clock spring is probably bad . The clock spring is a component inside the top of the steering column ,under the steering wheel . Many times a bad brake light switch will prevent the cruise from engaging. But your best bet is to get a shop manual and follow the step by step tests. Check with your local library to see if they have online access to a repair manual
From what I have read the flashing cruse light is to get you to fix the problem. Any cel will throw the cruse light and cruse will not work. Get your abs checked out and cruse will work again when fixed.
I guess the cruse is'nt working? You first need to look it over to see if everythings hooked up. Did it work for you before or you haven't seen it work? The switch on the dash will light after turning it on but the car has to be running for it to turn on . Does the light light? if not check the fuses and see if thier any blown? To check to see that everything is hooked up find the throttle body, one cablr goes to the gas pedal and the other goes to the cruse, follow this cable to the cruse unit and see if that unit has all it's wires and hoses connected. To check you remove them and reconnect them looking into the plug or hose for dirt rust bent pins. The hoses can crack on the inside and leak which will make it not engage. Follow these hoses to where thier connected to the engine and the brake pedal as they can split and be disconnected there too. The brake pedal switch has to work too as does the clutch switch ( if it has a clutch) If the brake lights don't work niether will the cruse. The hi mount brake light if the bulbs fail the cruse won't work. The switch on the steering wheel can get disconnected too as it's on a clockspring circuit as the steering wheel has to turn. Is the airbag light on? if it is and the horn does'nt work either it's likly that the clockspring is broken, If the horn works and the airbag light cycles like it's suposed to then the clockspring is likly OK. The speedometer has to work too as the speed senser that works it also works the cruse.If everything is working your problem could be more seriuos but it's not likly as this unit is quite reliable.
hi there you will find a switch some where near the dash light dimmer switch that will say off and on what you need to do
have the car going in a forward moton and doing 40kph or more
when you have reached the desired speed that you wish to set you need to turn the cruse control on then at the strearing wheel you will see a button saying "set"
once the light on the dash bord has come on then you can take your foot off and it should remain at the speed you set it at.
now some tips and did you know
when you have set a speed you can increase it by pressing the plus or minus button to either increase or decreas your speed and it will automatically remember it
when you want to over take and you have your cruse set at a speen you can use the exelaretor to go faster and once you have passed you can press resume to go back to the speed you where doing before you applyed more power
did you know cruse control is more economical then usng the exelarator it can save you fuel.
do not use cruse control in wet weather as it can cause a skid if you hit a p[uddle of water laying on the road
to stop the cruse form working just put your foot on the break
hello. check you fuse panal. look in the user manual that came with the car. it will have a fuse panal diagrame of what fuses control what. check if the twight senenal is working. it might be burned out. it will be located behind down to the right of your cruse control on off switch. wiper switch top headlight switch mid- cruse bottom. your cruse control switch and your headlight switch will have to be removed to get at the twilight sentenal switch. mabe your turn signal lights are buned out. you can replace them. you will have to remove your speedometer panal to get at them. an other posabllity is that your turnsignal switch on the steering collom isn't working. I segest that you buy the haynes repaire book. you can get it at canadiantire. and online at amazon.com. your fuse pannal should be down on the bottom left on the drivers side underneath the dashboard where your parking break is.
Pull up on the brake pedal. If that does not work check your brake light bulbs (LED brake lights will also keep your cruise control form working). Finally check all of the fuses. This system needs at least 3 different fuses to work properly.
