Re: 95 accord driver side door jammed
It does sound like the mechanism is detached from the handle.
The panel is fairly easy to remove. Just a screw in the handle where you pull the door closed, a screw behind the door handle itself and the rest are just snap in pieces around the permiter of the door. Just gently pull where the snap ins are located ( start at the bottom and work your way around both sides. ) The panel will then lift up over the door lock. Make sure you unplug the speaker and light and door lock plugs before pulling too hard!

This is what fixed the my car's driver's door that was stuck closed and locked: the plastic piece that function as the manual lock/unlock on the inside of the door (it's black but when the door's unlocked it has a red side facing out) had essentially popped out and everything was jammed. So you push the button back in while you flip the inside handle open. But maybe I was lucky, in that it was only the button that was jammed.
remove door panel, peel back water barrier on top left side, remove 10mm bolt on back of door handle,in top of door jam remove 10mm bolt and Phillips screw right below bolt, carefully pull out door handle and remove rod from it,contact Volu parts in Atlanta Ga at 1-888-280-4057 and order white plastic pivot arm, they will know what you need. remove metal drift pin from handle by squeezing with pliers lightly!!! and pulling remember most handle parts are plastic and old be careful. the only door handle new is OEM and over 100.00 and you have to paint to match car.
Try a slim jim first, down the side of the window. Or AAA or locksmith. If no luck, remove the seat first. Find the screws and bolts around the door handle and arm rest. Most Ford's have screws around the outer side of the panel. I don't believe your's does. The panel lifts or pops off. Once the panel is off, you can reach down and open the door. Just a note. I have done some to where the panel came out in pieces.
My friend just had this problem and he reached in and pulled the inside door handle back as far as it would go, and then let it go, allowing it to 'snap' back. For some reason this fixed it. We have no idea why. By doing this on one door, both rear door locks freed up and the rear locks are now working. Before, both rear locks were stuck and you could not open the doors from the inside nor the outside. Not sure why it works, but maybe it will work for you!
you should write a more detailed description but it could possibly be the pin in the hunge that keeps the door propped open, that could be jammer or if the handle/latch is the part that isnt opening then get in through the passenger side and pop off the door panel to the drivers side door and make sure the lines are connected from the door handle to the latch, and if you were in an accident recently depending on the severity it could be a bent frame/door depending where hit
There are two Bolds kinding Behind the Handle on the door.
One under the Lock cover ( the little square one) that you move to manually lock and unlock side is red the other is black.
then You remove that little panel with the panel by the door handel ( the one that pops open the door) and basiclly take a soft plastic Wedge and stick it between the door and frame. Dont forget to pop up the window and door lock switch with a soft screw driver. And disconnec the harnesses( dont worry they all are Sizes diffrent) so they all go ack in the their own place. Then Pop off the door panel sofftly if it is your first time. bc Gm is Cheap and things break.
Your door latch assembly may be compromised. It could be rusted, the electric solenoid (if it has one) may be seized. Or the rods from the key are bent. Are you using th key in this door regularly? If not, the tumblers in the lock may be seized. Spray some WD-40 in the lock where the key goes, and jam the key in & out repeatedly, and retry. Remove the door panel & spray the interior of the latch, also. Hope this works for you; or, you are going to need new latches.
sounds like the rods are disconnected the clips hold the rods in place the latching mechanism holds the handle in place as well did you replace the speakers or did a shop? if a shop did then they caused this if you did then you may have caused this either way untill you reattach the rods none of it will work. you will have to manually open the door at the latch from inside teh door behind the panel.
