CD Player and Cassette player not working, radio still does
When I insert a CD in the player, it stays in for about 15 / 30 seconds and then shoots back out. I can put a cassette in and it will go in, but it won't do anything. It does eject without a problem.
cassette will not load, like hitting something hard while inserting, not put into slot, had just ejected the cassette a few minutes before and tried to re-insert it.cassette will not load, like hitting something hard while inserting, not put into slot, had just ejected the cassette a few minutes before and tried to re-insert it.

The eject button is stuck (probably got some stuff splashed on it). Take the face plate off and clean/check area around this button for goo, dirt, or damage.
Don't replace it. Go to Walmart and buy an adapter. It is usally at the check out somewhere and It cost about $5.00. It has a cassette that goes into the cassette player. Then you plug your ipod or whatever into the attached wire. Doesn't look cool but it works and it is inexpensive. The adapters with the cd player attached skip (we had one 20 years ago) so just buy the new kind of adapter for less and play all your up to date gadgets. Put your cd songs on your ipod or iphone. Our son uses one in his truck with his little ipod shuffle. No cd player needed.
Try this as the stereo may need to be reset- If you have jumped or replaced the battery at anytime this will happen. You have to get the serial number off the radio by removing it or partially taking it out to see the numbers on it try not to remove any cords. With the stereo out (to make sure you get the right number off of it) call an Acura dealership with the number and they will give you the another number to enter into the stereo and directions on how to punch the numbers in. Make sure while you have the stereo out you write the serial number down and keep it in a safe place also the number that the Acura dealership gives you because if you sell the car or if it happens again its easily accessible. Good Luck!
I am not sure about repairing the unit. Do you have a CD cleaner? You might check with a reputable auto electronics shop, one that specializes in car audio. They may have an adapter that will allow an aftermarket radio to be controlled from the steering wheel. Rosen makes a nice am/fm/cd/dvd navigation unit that also has XM and iPod inputs. The hard part will be to find supporting interfaces and wiring harnesses to fit a 99.
