To fix this u will need a test light (borrow one or buy one there cheap if u dont have one)
disconnect the positive battery cable attach one end of test light to the positive battery post attach other end of test light to the disconnected battery cable if the light real bright start pulling fuses until the light goes out or goes real dim (the dim light is the draw from computer, radio, etc so small of draw wont hurt battery) once you pull the fuse that makes the light go dim or out check that circuit for short circuits

if when you put test light on light not on or real dim before u pull fuses you more than likely have a weak battery that wont hold a charge

Check battery drain using test light

Check for any of the interior lights especially the glove box staying on, or one of the door switches stuck in the on position.. Other option is to pull all the fuses, then replace them one at a time overnight and monitor the battery. Soon as the battery gets drained you've found the circuit causing the problem, then troubleshoot that circuit.

2001 Mercury villager battery drains after 2 days. New battery, alternator and starter. Something is causing a constant drain any one know if this is common?

Not common to your car in particular, but common.
Unhook your battery each night to keep from draining the battery whilst you search out the problem.
Put a test meter between the battery and the cable you took off to see how much of a short there is.
Some things that I have found were:
1) Some new replacement radios will drain a battery because they are on all the time, like most television sets today.
2) I have a car, (and have had a few more) that the glove box , (being plastic) was warped, and the glove box light stayed on all the time. I had to remove the bulb.
3) An alarm system, and some are factory built in, can drain a battery.
4) A trunk light, an under-the-hood light, or something else can do this.
Be blessed.

1999 sc-2 battery draining

Battery draining is from unnecessary current draw from module that do not sleep or glove box lights that stays on. Or even from a starter that has intermittent starter at times mimicing a drained battery,. To alternator diodes. And battery condition. The only solution for this is with a test light and a amp meter and a voltmeter, and doing voltage drop at the fuse box. This is the repair that a skilled technician can find

I have a 1996 grand Cherokee loredo. I thought I had a battery problem put new one in and still drains. I then got the alternator checked it is good. What else could cause the Jeep not to run. Could it be...

The starter on your Jeep could be worn...allowing it to drain the battery when not running...this is hard to confirm...but usually causes the problem like you are having...:)

I have just had a new batt and altenator fitted to my 1.8 escort van and the batt keeps draining

It is highly likely that you have a drain.
  1. Check and make sure that the glove box is shutting off the light inside the glove box when you shut the door.
  2. Check and make sure the dome light is set on door or shuts off.
  3. If you have a test light and someone to help, you can check for a drain.
  4. Remove the negative battery terminal and place the test light between the terminal and battery post. If it lights up you have a drain.
  5. With a assistant to watch the test light, go to the fuse panel and start pulling a fuse out one at a time and then replacing, at the same time with the assistant watching to see if the test light goes out.
  6. When the test light goes out you have found you drain.
