Question about 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer

1 Answer

No spark, no fuel, check engine light does not turn on at all when I first start the car. I am wondering if it may be a relay. Or is my computer fried.

Same problem. Check engine light comes on, have replaced crankshaft sensor, still no dice, fuel pump does not come on, checked power to the coil igniter - not getting any - no spark, diagnostic machine will not determine code - computer fried? if so, what is the deal with reflashing them? I've heard of it just don't know what it entails. New ECM from Mitsu is $916 - found in junkyard for $120 will it work? worth taking a shot? this is on a 2004 endeavor.

The red immobilizer light is staying on,the engine cranks but wont start..

You then have a ant-theft system problem an need to have the vehicle checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes . The ASD - relay supplies power to the ignition coils an too the fuel injectors .The ASD- auto shut down relay is energized by the engine computer - PCM . With the red anti-theft light on the PCM will not turn on the ASD relay cause a no start condition . You can check fuse an relays all you want ,not going to do any good . You need to see what the ant-theft systems problem is .

2005 Honda Accord Won't Start

Okay this is not so bad. First off you must check the battery. Go to harber frieght and get a cheap multimeter 5 bucks. Then put the leads on the battery terminals red on positive black on negative. What does it read. If it reads less then 12 volts your battery is shot. Now if lets say it does read 12 volts. Then the next possiblity is that there is a short or corriosion somewhere on the leads. So clean the battery terminals and connectors (bright shinny metal) And tighten everything back up. iF you get it started test the battery again this time with the car running and you should see 13, 14 volts. If not then your altenator is not putting out. Finally you must realize that somewhere the electricity is not getting to the starter. So trace the wires. All connection must be tight and corrsion free. Good luck.

I have a Mitsubishi 3000 , the pump and the spark plugs are rescieving no power , no spark would you say and I was wondering if there was a factory made killswitch or what might be the issue ?

Ok first I would like to know is it a 4 or 6 cylinder the first thing I need you to do is spray just a little bit of carburetor cleaner not starting fluied starting fluied can start a fire then if it start n dies you might have a fuel pressure problem next go to autozone buy a noid light there cheap remove the injector harness plug in the noid light crank it for a few seconds if the light on the noid light keeps blinking your crank n cam Sensor n computer is working if not the crank sensor supplies the spark n injector impluse also if you don't have a check engine light on when you turn the key on check fuese n relays keep me in touch

Why did car die while driving on Interstate and will not start back up

When the engine dies all the lights on the dash should come ! It's when the engine is still running an those lights come is when you need to worry ! You need to check for spark an fuel pressure. If no spark probably an ignition module , crankshaft position sensor or distributer module , what ever ignition system it has. If there is spark spray some carburetor clean into the engine , if it try's to start you have a fuel delivery problem , fuel pump , relay ! No Start Diagnostic Basics EricTheCarGuy

Lights work, horn blows, ignition lights work, but key will not start the car. we've had starter and selinoid checked all is good

check the relays and fuses in the car, like the fuel pump relay, starter relay, all of the types of relays that are needed for the car to start. Although if the engine is turning over, then it is not the starter relay, then you would have to check if you have spark or if you are getting fuel. You can check if you are getting fuel by spraying starter fiuld into the intake, after doing so try to start the car, if the car starts then you are not getting fuel.

1991 Honda Accord starting problem Well the car will not start period it turns over and over and over but does not try to start. First thought the car did not have spark so replaced the cap rotor and coil...

Turn the ignition on to the ON position if the check engine light goes out within 5 seconds then it is not the computer or the pfi relay if it stays on then you probably have a bad PFI relay located under the dash.or computer but most likely the relay.

2004 Kia Sedona wont start but i can hear starter.

if the starter is revving very slowly it is the battery, charge battery. if not, It can be three things happing. 1 no spark 2 no fuel 3 no crank signal or the car computer is bad- you will need to unplug one of the spark wires and remove the spark plug and put the spark plug in the spark plug wire boot, and touch the spark plug on any metal on the car and have some start the car. donot touch the spark plug itself and see if there is a spark. if spark is bright, then it is not spark plug and wires but if no or spark is not bright, check the spark plug wires by applying a little bit of water on the spark plug wire and take a 12v test light, connect the clap to ground and and have some one to crank the vehicle, touch allover the spark plug wires with the tip of the test light, if you see spark, replace the wires and change the plugs.. they are not good. if spark is present, check for fuel by removing any one of the spark plugs and see if it is wet. if wet fuel pump is ok but if not go look for the fuel pump fuse and relay. is fuse blown, replace, check the relay resistor with a volt meter. it should be around 40 to 80 ohm. if everything is good from this point check the fuel pump itself by disconnecting the connector to the pump and apply 12v and ground using jumper wires or some wires to the fuel pump if you donot hear the pump, replace pump. if you, the crank signal or computer may be the problem
