There are snap in clips that hold the inside panel to the door. There is a tool made for theis, but you can use a screwdriver. Just put the screwdriver between the panel and the door, and gently pry the 2 apart. Don't try to do it all at once in one area, Do one spot, move down a little, pry a little there, move down etc. Once they seperate, you will have to lift up on the panel (it hooks over the top edge)

How do u take the door panel off on a 1995 Honda civic

Instructions
    • Check the power window fuse. Remove the kick panel located under the steering column to expose the fuse panel. Use the illustration on the kick panel to locate the power window fuse, remove it and inspect the filament. Replace if the filament is broken.
    • 2Open the hood and use a wrench to loosen the negative battery terminal. Remove the negative battery terminal and set it aside.
    • 3.
Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the speaker cover and speaker on the appropriate door. It is not necessary to remove the speaker from its wires.
    • 4Unscrew the armrest with a Phillips head screwdriver. Remove the armrest.
    • 5Locate the door trim panel running along top of the interior of the door; where the door meets the bottom of the window. Use your Phillips head screwdriver to remove the retaining screws of the door trim panel. Grip the panel firmly and remove it by pulling upward.
    • 6Remove the door panel with your hands. The outer border of the door panel is connected with a series of plastic slips. Carefully unseat the clips to remove the door panel. Work the speaker through the speaker hole in the door panel.
    • 7Locate the window bracket. It is a combination of metal arms holding the window glass in place. The arms form an 'X' shape with the upper right arm attached to the power window motor.
    • 8Use your hand to disconnect the power window motor relay. Make sure there are no breaks in the wires and the fuses inside the relay are intact. If the relay is broken or does not connect properly with the power window motor it must be replaced.
    • 9Inspect the swing bolts on the window mounting bracket. There should be a visible amount of grease to lubricate the joints. If the swing bolt joints are dry they may be stuck. Use all-purpose automotive grease to lubricate the locked swing bolt joints.
    • 10Hold the glass in place and use the approapriate socket wrench to remove the regulator. The regulator is the metal arm holding the bottom of the window glass in place. It is attached to the bottom-most 'X' shaped arms. Remove the regulator.
    • 11Use a pencil to mark the location of the gear on the power window motor. Remove the power window motor mounting bolts and remove the motor from the door. Inspect the gear on the motor for grease and lubricate if necessary. If the motor does not work after greasing it must be replaced.
    • 12Replace door panel, door panel trim, armrest, speaker and speaker cover. Replace the negative battery terminal and lower the hood.

How do I realign the passenger side window?

WINDOW GLASS REMOVAL

NOTE: Window glass must be operable in order to remove door assembly carrier. Any malfunction that prevents the window (manual or power) from being lowered must be corrected before proceeding.

  • Remove door trim panel.
  • Pry out sealing plugs in door assembly carrier to gain access to window glass securing bolts.
  • Lower window until window glass securing bolts are accessible.
NOTE:
If the power window motor is not working it can be renmoved to allow the window to be slid down.

  • Loosen window glass securing bolts and carefully press glass securing clamps apart.
NOTE:
If glass is being replaced due to breakage, remove door assembly carrier and remove broken shards of glass to prevent rattling noises in door.

  • Carefully lower the window regulator.
  • Lift window glass up and pivot forward, starting at the taller end of the glass. Pivot forward towards the direction of the side mirror.
  • Place removed window glass in a secure location.
WINDOW GLASS INSTALLATION

  • Slide forward part of window glass into opening and pivot glass downward, reversing the removal proceedure.

Passenger side window stop working all of a sudden. You can hear it clicking, but it will not roll down.

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Pull back the weather seal and you should be able to see everything. Your regulator may be bad or the window's caught on somethign

Passenger side power window does not go down

I would start by locating the fuse for the power windows, if one side is working move to step 2. I have replaced window regulators on several american vehicles, the honda should be no different. Youcan order the power window regulator online on autopartswarehouse.com, or take a chance at your local junkyard. you will need to remove the door panel, start at the release mechanism inside, usually 1 screw with a small plastic cover. in addition, 1 screw in the grab area of the arm rest, also covered. at the bottom of the panel under the arm rest start to pry off the door panel, you can take it off with a flat blade screwdriver or flat pry bar. it will make a snapping sound. then proceed, there are about about 8-10 total clips. after this is done, you will need to un hook the power window and door lock connections. next remove the door light connection at the bottom of the door. remove the plastic lining as careful as possible. you will need to put this back on after you finish. usually there are three screws attached to the regulator and 4 screws, 2 on each side of the alignment tracks. in addition there are 2 screws holding the window to the brace that moves up and down. remove the window bolts first and remove the glass, then proceed with the rest of the bolts, then re assemble as you have taken apart. On the hondas I would say about 2-3 hours will be need for each window. Good Luck!!!

My 1994 vans right side front window does'nt work. I was wondering if you could tell me how to take the door apart to check the power window regulator and motor. The van also has power mirrors.

There is likely a bolt under the arm rest take that out but you need a door panel removel tool to pry the plastic pegs out so you don't brake them or you will have to replace them they brake very easily,it looks like a srew driver with a forked end. and if your switches are on the arm rest you have to pry it out carefully

How to install driver side window regulator

1. Take door panel off by prying off with srew driver moldings for outside mirror, around lock, and door handle, then pry up counsel for power locks, windows, and mirror adjustment and disconnect plugs. Remove three screws located behind arm rest handle, inside where counsel was removed, and bottom middle of door panel. Lift panel and pull slighlty towards you. Disconnect courtesy light, and wire to speaker. This may sound like alot but it goes pretty fast. 2. Peel away plastic and loosen window glass clamps (explaination from above, which are accessable when window is in up position). 3. Disconnect wire to motor, and remove 6 bolts holding guide rails and motor. Lift rails slightly to release from little hangers, which come in handy when putting new one in. 4. You should be able to remove entire window regulator at this point. Surprisingly the window stayed in up position when regulator was removed. 5. Before installing new regulator loosen window glass clamps. Install new by first setting guides in place by using the little hangers. Bolt guides and motor, temporarily connect power window switch and carefully raise window regulator until clamps are resting in place under window glass, tighten clamps. Test before putting panel back on.

Replacing Passenger Window Motor

Hello, I have a 2004 Avl. I replaced the driver door window mechanism myself. You need to pry out the electric window controls with a dull blade as to not tear the vinyl. Disconnect the controls carefully. There are small release clips that hold the switch buttons onto the electric base. Then the arm rest, there is a long screw under the armrest. At the front towards the mirror there is a long screw under a round plastic snap cover. I believe it is a small metric bolt. Next grasp the bottom end of the door cover and pull with a sharp snap. Continue around the door panel gently pulling the snaps loose from their base. The door panel cover does not cantain screws only snaps. There is a clear plastic water barrior you need to be careful to peel without tearing and place on a clean flat surface with sticky side up. I had to replace the window track and motor all in one piece, can't just replace track. I purchaces the mechanism on-line parts store.

Rear passenger side window stuck in down position

1) Yes you are right to think that it is the regulator.
2) You can repair this.

Remove the screws that hold the door panel on.
Remove the door panel. There are alot of clips on the door panel that just need to be pulled out with panel while removing.
Remove debris shield.(plastic piece between door panel and door.
The regulator will be visible at this point.
Disconnect the electrical connector from the regulator. Separate Glass from regulator. Some use clips some use bolts to hold the glass to the regulator.
Remove regulator attaching bolts.

Thats it just reverse the procedure for installation.
