Question about 1996 Isuzu Trooper
I had a similar problem. The mechanic said the shocks are gone. I replaced the shocks and most of the noise (slight grinding sound) went away. I think that was the problem.

I have a similar problem, and i know what the cause is, at least. a few years back, i had my trooper almost vertical in an irrigation ditch and when i had it pulled out, the front right tire was stuck on a grate on the ditch. i could tell when it was being pulled out that some damage was being done because the wheel was tilting in a position that it shouldnt have been forced into. i took it into a local shop and they found up to 2000 dollars worth of repairs that needed to be done. good luck to those of you with a similar problem.

Not a solution, but I'm experiencing the exact same problem! I brought by 1996 Isuzu Trooper (129,000mi) to a Firestone auto service place and they spent TWO HOURS trying to ID the problem. No luck. HELP, anyone?
