Check the wire lead going to the trunk lock. It controls the trunk lamp, & may be shorting. Our 1997 Neon Hineline Sport was losing its charge overnight, & thats what the problem was. The short is internal in the latch mechanism, so replace the latch or disconnect and cap the wire.

missing in 5th gear may be a low fuel pressure problem and it could be a problem with the cat converter. Run fault codes to find any faulty sensors.

Ok ou changed the battery, the spark plugs and spark plug wire and drained the old gas out. You could also drain the fuel line, so that any gunk in it. Did you change the oil and the transmission fluid? Did you drain the radiator and flush it out before refilling it with water an anti-freeze? You need to find where the fuses are and change them all, because it is difficult to tell if a fuse is bad or not. The fuses are very old, and they can cause the car not to start. Do you have lights? Have you checked your alternator? If it is not working, the battery will drain and the car won't start. It's a cheap fix. Have you checked your hoses and clamps? If the problem is that it is not starting when you turn the key, the starter could be bad. You can test this by hot-wiring it (I'm sure you can find instructions online). Also, check your belts and make sure they are in good condition. If it has been sitting that long, the belts are probably dried out. They are not hard to change, or very expensive, if you do it yourself, but if they aren't too bad you can get some belt conditioner that will help. If I think of anything else, I will let you know.

Willreplacing the battery help the life of the battery? battery runs down when car sits over nite with nothing on delco battery

Check to see if you have a short circuit when the vehicle is off. At night with vehicle off, remove negative cable from battery. Lightly touch it back on and off. If you see a spark, you might have a short that is draining your battery. If you have a clock or under hood light you will see a small spark but if it's really noticable likely a short. If no large spark, likely battery is b/o and that is hard on your altenator and starter. Replace as soon as possible

When rain and car sits over night ,can crank car tillsmell gas but no fire

On a 96 tauras you might need to check simple things like your spark plug wires. Try starting the car while it's dry, then take a spray bottle and soak down the spark plug wires if it runs different then replace them.

Daewoo Korando - spark plugs replaced. Now it is misfiring any ideas

If it ran better before you changed the plugs you can pretty much bet there lies your problem. To make sure all the plugs are on correctly slide the boot up the plug wire till you see the clip (this may not be possible on some wires), push it on the plug and then push the boot down over the plug. Check that all the wires are firmly pressed into the distributor, they sometimes get pulled out when being tugged on replacing plugs. If that's not it you may have gotten a bad plug or one could have been dropped and cracked the porcelain on the plug. Check the gap on each plug. But being sporadic and the plugs and wires recently messed with I'd guess one of the wire clips is touching but not snapped down on the plug.
