My explorer's odometer stopped working, all other guages on the dash work fine, speedometer..etc, I've tried resetting the trip odometer several times to see if that will get it going but no joy. any suggestions?

Speedometer works fine so its not the cable. My odometer went out two weeks ago as it shifted to 95000 miles. Dealer says replace it for about $500. Any other solutions? Is there a gear head to be replaced?

I have the same problem, however there is no cable on my model. There is a small motor inside the cluster which drives the gears for the odometer, the worm gear on mine broke (cracked into pieces, cheap junk). Probably have to go to a junk yard to get the speed/tach cluster.

Check the speed sensor in the transmission.
Being a 95 it might still be cable driven. Disconnect the cable from the transmission and hook a drill to it. Spin it and see if it registers. If it does, the gear going into the tranny is broken, if it doesn't the cable is probably broken.

The Explorer starts fine, drives fine, but I have no power to the air fans, windows, odometer or any dash board lights or guages. Let's try again.

Given the number of circuits involved, I would start at the key switch to see if those circuits have power.

My electric odometer went out on my 02 ford explorer but all other lights work on my dash. How do i fix it?

You said the odometer went out, but does the speed odometer still work? How about the trip odometers? It could be the sensor went bad. Or it could be a connection to the dash. Has the dash been apart recently?

My 2003 ford focus speedometer stops working sometimes as does the elecyric odometer- sometimes both at same time. Other gauges work fine. The odometer goes to just dashes in place of the actual mileage...

Usually if both the odometer and speedometer stop working, the problem is the speed sensor on the transmission. You should also have a trouble code in the engine computer.
If one component works but the other does not, the problem is usually the speedometer head in the dash.

Lights or fuse for my speed odemeter guage and heater/air conditioning system

These lights for the dash are controlled by a rheostat instrument control dimmer switch next to the main light switch for the headlights, it is either turned off (have seen this dozens of times) or it is defective. Below is a picture of the switch assembly I speak of. The thumb wheel next to the knob is the dimmer control.

My odometer stopped working.

Is tripometer still working? Mine is the same way. Neither work. I've heard that a common issue for mid-late 90's Explorers is the teeth on the gears behind the dash eventually wear down or break off. Only sure way to fix it, is to pull the dash apart and replace with odometer assembly I believe. I think you can get them pretty cheap at a junk yard. Personally, I haven't cared enough to go through the process, so I drive without.

The odometer and trip odometer for my 1996 ford explorer stop working. However, the speed still works. Any suggestions??

The gear in the speedometer assembly is broken causing the odometer and trip odometer to be inop. You can either buy a new speedo head or buy a gear kit from an online source (google Ford speedo odometer inop)for the kit.
