My problem started a couple of months ago. I started my car and I noticed that it was stuck in first gear. I tried to drive for few hundred meters in 1st gear and suddenly I felt a big jump forward with the car supposedly in 4th gear and hill descent warning light and F4 flashing on my display. Turning the car off and on after sometime when the car gets warm will erase error message on display with my car not anymore in limp mode and everything ok. However the next morning the same thing happens when the car is cold. The land rover specialist i took it at told me it's the converter and it will cost around EU2000 only for the part. Please help!!!

Get the computer failure codes, also may be one or more of your transmission shift solenoid sensors. any one of transmission sensors could cause this. they are a lot less expensive. re-post with failure codes

Check engine light

I think you need to have that MIL checked with a code reader and go from there. It may be related to the problems you had before or it could be a completely different system.

Po305 error code

With that many miles, I would expect to find the injector as the issue. But it could also be a sticking valve. Or a valve that has problems opening as the oil gets hot. You may want to do a compression test hot and cold too.

Good after noon, it`s definitely inside the gearbox, but you might be lucky to get the gear lever out by removing the gear lever it selve then try pulling the 3rd sellector in place, normally when that happence, the bushes on the gear lever ball is worn out and has to be replace, hope my info helps.

I dont belive it is air that is cousing your problem. Think it is more an electrical isue. I have had some problems with relay module (engine bay, near engine computer). And check fuel lift pump.
hope it helps

Transmission

You probably need to have linkages at transmission lubricated. There is one that controls throttle valve which tends to seize up on a regular basis. When it starts to seize, you will notice it staying in lower gear longer before it shifts up, and sometimes it will shift down hard when slowing down to stop.
