I own a w reg

i own a w reg 320d and my heating is not working, i was advised to replace the heater valve, which i done. however this did not solve the problem. Also recently the car has seemed to be sitting at a slightly higer temperature than normal whilst driving normally, and when pushing the car harder and driving faster the temperature steadily increases and will only decrease again when slowing back down.
