How about the fuel pump failing

Never lost, just not familair with the
system

Got to keep testing

Only get spark if you have a crank signal
has to be turning over for that

Use logic,think

1988 c3500 Farther I press accelerator down the more it feels like its stalling

I think I would take a look at the catalytic converter. Sounds like it has become plugged and they will become more so as it gets hotter. Pull it loose and look in the front side to see what kind of shape the comb is in, should be obvious if that is it.

Background: '98 intrepid (170k) has been running fine over last 4 months...no problems. It has been kept in the garage through the winter when not used. For the past 5 days it has been kept outside in...

You don't say what engine is in it (2.7 or a 3.2) but you need to check to see if it is getting spark at the plugs-it may be the crank sensor, weak links in Chryslers of this era. pull a plug just to be certain it is getting gas, but I'd guess it is a crank sensor.

Driving my truimph tr6 down the road and it cut of for no reason. Tried to cranck it back up but would not start . Just filled it up that morning

Could be many, many things but if you just filled it up you may have a bad evaporator gas/vapor separator and that would allow gas to enter evap system when expecting gas and kill engine but it would later start again until the gas did it again moving. If just never starts again then possibly your fuel pump is failing and could be related to not working well with full tank. Other things would be computer, if crankshaft sensor is fried then car wont run at all, any sensor that shorts out can spike voltage and computer shuts down car but will usually start again but stall. Ignition coil pack could be fried, that sends power to the plugs. Bad injectors can cause a stall and no start.

1992 Accord won't restart after you have had it running,

Sounds like something is getting hot and doesn't like to start up again. In the 60s & 70s there was the "vapor lock" phenomenon with the gas line getting hot near the radiator hose- a mechanical pump- old school style. The gas would vaporize and cavitate in the pump and wouldn't restart intermittently after running a while. The solution was to jam an old sock between the radiator hose and the gas line. Your Honda is no small block V-8 hoop-dee, but I use this as a demonstration of the idea that weird things can happen when parts get hot.

A likely suspect is the the dist ignition coil or transistor- test for marginal ohms values that go out of tolerance when hot. Heat raises resistance, so look for nearly out of tolerance high ohms readings as suspect. This makes for a hard or non-start situation even if it is running good down the road. Of course make sure your cooling system is flushed, filled, bled & pressure tested first to eliminate a universal overheating situation first. This kind of problem can be a real bear to track down, but I would think "What's getting hot?" Could be lots of things, but my guess is something electronic malfunctioning or throwing off values that cause a malfunction in the ECM feedback loop. You might want to check your computer codes to see if it gives you any hints. Good luck.

Ram van dies

sounds to me like the fuel pump is bad, when it warms up it dies, try to check this by filling the tank and running a while, then run the van with a near empty tank and see how it does. A full tank of gas should keep the fuel pump cool as it is surrounded by the liquid. I had a similar problem. when my tank got to about a quarter full (3/4 empty) the van would shut off after a short distance, then after sitting for a while would start up again get me a little farther then shut off again. i ended up changiung the fuel pump cost me almost $300. if this simple test shows no results the you got electrical problems, check distributor, and surrounding cables. good luck. also check your fuses could be dirty!

Start with gas but shuts off when you let off

buy a couple bottles of gasline antifreeze and put them in the tank and try it again.
