Question about 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
The fuel pressure regulator is under the upper intake manifold (plastic one) on the right side of the center injector assy. The most likely problem with the reguator is leaking. The problem with your truck it the fuel pump. Make sure you replace the connector on the fuel pump

Locate your fuel pump fuse in the under-hood electrical center. Start the van ( cold engine ) and remove the fuse. When the engine stalls, the fuel pressure will have been depleted in the rail. You will have a small amount of residual fuel in the line but no pressure. Place a rag under the regulator to catch the dripping fuel.

SOURCE: fuel pressure regulator
Two places to look...if you have separate injectors for each cylinder then regulator should be at the front end of the fuel rail. If you have throttle body injection it is on the throttle body itself.
