Question about Plymouth Voyager

1 Answer

When I'm accelerating I hear a high pitch squeal or perhaps, ringing. It stops immediately when I apply the brakes. Can I keep driving it awhile, or is it dangerous?

WHAT IS CAUSING THIS SQUEALING NOISE IN MY CAR?

Sounds like a dragging brake pad. There is an adhesive that can be applied between the calipers and the pads. Or it may be time for a rear end brake change.

Hi I have an 06 plate Micra which has a high pitched squealing noise when I'm driving either straight or turning to the right. The left doesn't seem to be affected the majority of the time and it stops...

Some cars have a "noise maker" to warn you that your brake pads are worn out.
Looks like you may need new brake pads. You can get someone to look at the calipers to check the thickness of the pads.
Hope this helps.

I have a 2006 Pontiac G6, while driving down there road i get a very high pitched squealing noise that goes away when i apply brake pressure. when i let off the brake it begins again. brand new...

This is the brakes making the noise, it may be a problem and brakes may have worn down to the warning arm which makes the same noise you are hearing. i would have the brakes checked if its due to a low pad you will do damage to the new rotors.good day.

1998 Subaru Outback Wagon Grinding Noise/Squeaky Brake/Gas Gauge

The first issue, I would have the brake calipers checked for either a pin stuck or one of the pistons stuck, It is a dual piston caliper and sometimes one will stick causing pad to angle slightly. While inspecting the brake issue also check your wheel bearings, which may be the squeak. On the fuel issue, I will tell you a secret, LOL, but Subaru has set the fuel gauge to read E but still have about 5 gallons of fuel left. I use US measurements, but trying to use my head I believe you are getting about 22-24 MPG from what you said and that is pretty good. I hope this helps a bit and have a great day.

Break squeal can be stopped by applying shims or anti-squeal compound to the pads.

Put the car in neutral, set the parking brake, open the hood, get someone to listen/see where the sound is coming from, as you press on the accelerator.

Front end noise

Sounds like rust build up on the rotors, this is a common problem with after market rotors,or it is a squealer tab and they squeal to warn you before damage is done to the rotors when brake pads are 2/3 worn down.have a brake inspection done.
