Question about Suzuki XL7

1 Answer

Actually a 2000 Suzuki Katana 600 bike... Having trouble getting good throttle, it's lagging behind, and the bike dies on the highway. I changed fuel filter and spark plugs, now I'm going to clean the pilot jets on all 4 carbs, my question: How hard is it to pull the carbs/clean the jets? I'm an amature, but pretty smart... is it as simple as loosening bolts?

Relatively simple make sure you have a manual(clymer) also make sure to get the carbs synced after reassembly use a vacuum gauge or mercury gauge

I have a 2006 grand vitara ... We have changed brakes all the way around and bleed them ... I am now having trouble with them still not catching ... Is there something we are not looking at ?????

If it has good pedal and just won't stop you probably are not getting any help from your power booster. Check for the vaccum hookup at the motor and on the front of the power booster behind the master cyclinder.

I have a 2001 deville car lags alot taking off ans jerks even more i have changes sparkplugs and maf sensor also cleaned the throttle body really good but still having probem

Change your fuel filter for starters. Then try throwing some motor honey or something in there. Personally I would flush all the fluids, change all the filters and then get on the highway and floor it. That worked on all my trucks and my pontiac

You need to have the computer scanned for trouble codes. The check engine light is there to let you know you have a problem. Scanning for codes will let you know what needs fixing, or at least where to start looking for the cause of your problems. Good luck.

Where would the thermostat be located on a 2000 pontiac Montana van

hi....
It is actually buried under the air cleaner.
first remove the air cleaner tube, throttle body, the thermostat is just below the throttle body in the aluminum cast housing. two bolts to remove, one was easy the other was a real $%&^!!. It is behind the exhaust cross over tube. Good luck. TIP - use WD-40 on the air cleaner tubing to get it to go back on the Throttle body. It isn't as easy as changing a thermostat sounds.

if you are satisfied with my solution then rate for me......
thank you...

2000 s10 extreme died while i was driving it was wierd

It is either a bad sensor or plugged fuel filter. Very possible it is the throttle position sensor or leaky injector. Most likely bad sensor.. If check engine light is on, than surely bad sensor.

Having trouble keeping my 98 jeep grand cherokee running

i recommend cleaning the throttle plates. they are located unter the intake hose form the engine to the air filter housing. if you open them with the engine not runniong you will see they will be covered in carbon. use a good carb cleaner and a rag to wipe them clean
