Question about 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt
I HAVE A 2008 CHEVY COBALT LT (SE) }SPECIAL EDITION AND I RECENTLY HAD THE STEERING COLUMN REPLACED AT THE DEALER, IT TOOK ABOUT 4 HOURS. BUT GOT RID OF THE VIBRATION AND HARD STEERING PROBLEM PLUS NO RADDLING NOISES, I WOULD LIKE TO ADD THAT SOME OF THE RADDLE WAS COMING FROM THE COMPUTER BOARD UNDER THE HOOD DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE DRIVER WAS LOOSE AND NEEDED TO BE TIGHTENED A PROBLEM THAT ALL COBALTS ARE ALSO KNOWN FOR ACORDING TO THE DEALER. sam is right it has EPS electronic power steering my bros 05 cobalt has that problem what u need is a steering column kit for internal motor malfunction it is a common problem on 05 chevy models

It sounds like your serpentine belt broke. Look under the hood and see if you see pulleys without a drive belt (on the front of the engine). Replace the belt if necessary.
