I'm fairly certain that your remotes need to be reprogrammed. Yesterday I ran into a problem very similar to this one. My driver side door doesn't actually lock when I try to lock my car, but the alarm still activates. I was playing with the range of my remote when it started to blink and then the red light on the remote stayed on while I was opening my car door. Naturally my alarm went off and I couldn't get my remote to work. I had to pull the battery fuse and figure out what the F*** had happened. After about 10 minutes, my remote led went off and I decided to attempt to disable the alarm with the remote after replacing the battery fuse. As it turns out, I had reset my remote to production settings and when I tried to disable the alarm, it had reset to my car....PROBLEM SOLVED and the neighbors could finally stop peeking their heads out from their windows and get off of their balconies!

Did anything happen to them before they stopped working?
Was anything kind of work done to the car before?

Put the key in and turn to the "ON" position and leave it there for 30 seconds. Then turn the key further to start the car. The alarm will then be disabled and the engine will be running. You have to then go to a dealership to get the fobs working again.

SOURCE: key fob will not undo

If you don't have one that works for the vehicle now, you'll have to take it to your local dealer to have it programmed to the vehicle. Some will charge for this, some will do it at no charge.

If you do have a remote that is programmed and working for the vehicle, then the following steps will allow you to program another remote:

1. Enter vehicle and close all doors.

2. Put seatbelt on (or clip it into the buckle) to shut the warning buzzer off.

3. Put key in ignition, turn to run position but don't start it.

4. Press and hold the unlock button on the working key fob and hold for 4 seconds, then also press the panic button.

5. Release both buttons and you should hear a single chime to indicate it is in program mode. You have 30 seconds after the chime to program any additional remotes you want to program.

6. Press and release both the unlock and lock buttons simultaneously on the remote you are programming. You should hear another single chime.

7. Within 4 seconds after hearing the chime, press either lock or unlock button on remote that you are programming.

SOURCE: wife is stuck with sister,

I am not a Ford expert but has she tried unlocking the car with the outside driver's door key cylinder? This works on most makes and models to disarm the alarm.

My car won't won't start

Here are a few ideas to check out: is your key fob working? If not, it could be the battery in your key. Unfortunately, after you put in a new tiny battery, it will have to be reprogramed. Could your car battery have worn itself down from frequent alarms?

Fob still won't work after new battery and nothing wrong with the contact inside, do not hae original code for the Kia sportage 1998 so what is the next best thing ,to do?

When replacing the key fob battery there is no reprogramming required! If the key fob was working prior to the battery replacement then it would point to the contacts not being correct! Remove key fob battery and start again!

Key fob not working

Steve, did you try to remove the battery from the FOB to make sure that is the cause? If you did and you are sure of it, the FOB keeps transmitting even though you are not pressing the button. Have it check by any reputable alarm guy. You don't have to go to the dealer.

Lost set of keys, alarm was on car locked. Found spare key only, it will open door, alarm goes off, but the key won't start engine. It will turn in ignition, but dead! It's a Chevy HHR 2006! HELP

Close the doors. Lock the doors using the buttons on the key fob. Use the fob to again unlock the doors. The key should then work the ignition. If this will not work, you will have to tow your vehicle to the dealer and buy a new key and/or fob and have it programmed to the vehicle.

Won't start, could it be fob or engine?

Try not using the fob at all open the door with the key. And start the jeep if it works without issue then its the fob. If its still not working correctly remove the battery from the fob and try again(since if it was damaged could be sending the signal for the panic button) the next step is the key try your spare security key can become worn and cause issues with the antitheft system. After that it only leaves computer problems and those can get spendy

2004 Hyundai Elantra won't start, emergency flashers keep blinking, can't shut off, lights dim, can't jump start, clicking from under dash from relays. What could it be?

The 'Keyless Entry & Burglar Alarm System" is activated. You must 'Disarm' the system using the Keyless Entry Remove (Key Fob) to "Reset" the system. The reason the engine won't start is due to the burglar alarm - it has a "Starter Kill" circuit which is activated when the alarm is activated. The alarm must be DEactivated to DEactivate the 'Starter Kill' circuit.
Another way to start the engine is to get in the car, put the key in the ignition and turn it to 'ON" and wait 3 to 5 minutes until the emergency flashers stop/turn off. Afterward, you should be able to start the engine. NOTE: This does NOT reset the burglar alarm. It will go off again when you enter the vehicle without using the remote/key fob.

Alarm system has stopped working on my x reg 4.0 cherokee jeep. Both key fobs have new batterys, was ok, up and till brakes where replaced recently.Jeeps battery showing charged.Alarm still wont work having...

please explain what year a X registration vehicle is ,as i have no idea ,last one i remember was a T 1978 .Now i think that this alarm fob might need re-programming into the vehicle where you swing on the aerial whilst holding the key fob in teeth and pressing the brake and the FM button on the radio at the same time ,When my all data books arrive next week i might be able to help but yes i have had this problem before and yes we do have these vehicles here in spain but mainly diesels ,now last time it happened when a customer changed the batterys i held the button down on the fob then turned the ignition on and it all sort of bleeped and started working ,but perhaps an american person with more experiance than myself might know how to do it correctly ,Now if you ask me about a humber hawk or a morris minor??
