4x4, 6 cyl, 4 wheel ABS, 4.88 ratio there are a few options. you will need to figure it out or look at the code panel in the truck. if you want to figure it out. you will need to remove the cover from that axle and count the two ring gears and then divide the numbers to get the gear ratio. for example if one is 40 and the other was 11. would be 3.72. so here is the trick to counting the gears. they are covered in oil so have a pan ready when you pull the cover. and use a marker or crayon and mark a tooth on the gear ring. then count the gears and you will know where to stop when you get back to your mark. the little gear will be harder since its in the back. you might have to turn the wheels and you will need it in neutral and jack the rear end up. as always use jack stands to prevent damage to you or the truck..

The ratio is determined by the relationship between adjacent gear circumferences. The circumference of a circle is expressed as Pi D, so the ratio between adjacent gears is the ratio between their diameters. The overall ratio for the multi gear set should be the product of the ratios of all of the gear sets.

If you are talking about gear ratio, there is probably a tag on one of the bolts that holds the inspection plate to the housing. It should tell you the gear ratio and ring gear size. If its not there you can pull that plate off (be sure to have an oil catch pan under it) and look at the ring gear itself. All of that same information will be stamped on the ring gear, on the surface of the gear facing you. You may need to rotate it so you can see the stamp.

Now i dont know a lot about automatics especially modern ones with all this fancy electronics thats used nowdays but i think its a fault with the temperature sensor for the gearbox.But where its located and what it looks like i have no idea it could even be mounted inside the gearbox .Sorry not a very good answer from a mechanic but?? very few of our europeon cars come with auto transmission .Evan when i do know whats wrong i cannot buy the parts for the gearbox as only re-con boxes supplied by the dealer so best advice is to try a specialist in auto box repairs only .PS some of my best students when i used to teach mechanics many moons ago were the girls so no excuses like iam only a girl please

Not a C but a K1500 4wd, 14 bolt cover, 6 bolt lug


You'll have to check the tag that is mounted to one of the differetial cover bolts. It'll tell you there. If the tag is gone, you'll have to remove the cover and rotate the ring gear. While you're rotating the gear, look for the numbers on it. You'll see a set of numbers for example 41 10 , when you see this you divide one into the other and this will give you the ratio. For example the numbers above gives you a gear ratio of 4.10.
