The body style was the same from 1996 to 2000 for the Honda Civic. Are both of the Civics similar in body style as in they have the same number of doors? Not sure if a wagon or hatchback would interchange with a regular 2 door coupe.
Sounds like a starter that is in the 1st stages of death : ) Starters don't just die, (usually) they kinda die a long agonizing death, agonizing for you cuz most of us tend to push it and hope that it just keeps going, Forget it! It's dead replace it and move on. : ) I would def change out the starter though. That'll probably solve your problem. Good luck.
need to check for voltage at the starter. if no volt meter is available, have someone hold the key in the crank position while you tap the starter with small hammer. if it breaks loose, replace the starter. happy holidays
there isn't a 1.4L in a 96 civic. only a 1.5 and a 1.6L. all you need to actually fit it to the car is a turbo exhaust manifold but i would suggest buying a complete turbo kit. a kit will come with everything needed to turbo the car.
