Question about 2003 Lincoln Navigator

2 Answers

On my 2003 Lincoln Navigator, when I accelerate, the cool AC air blows out of the defrost ducts. When I brake, the air blows out of the vents (where I would like it to blow all of the time). There is no difference whether the DEATC is set to AUTO or if I select the setting manually, nor does it show a change of selection on the instrument pannel. What's the problem???

I have the same problem on my 1999 lincoln navigator. I currently have the entire dash apart trying to find it. I need a diagram showing where it is and how to get to it. I also need a diagram of the dash so I can put it back together. Please help.

There is a vaccum line under the hood in front of the fire wall, passengers side. that came loose on my Lincoln navigator it just needed re attached. Very simple fix. It is not in the dash board. It is in the engine compartment. Look directly across from the battery toward the engine, to your left, If standing on the battery side.

Hope this helps.

Hi there...
well usually this happens, when the valve in the dash-board is defective. you can't replace it your self. its not costly, but the mechanic needs to dig in deep to reach it in most cars. i don't know where exactly it is loacated in the Navigator. but dont listen to any body telling to replace anything but this small in dash valve .

good luck i wish this helps u in anyway.
have a nice day

Heat blows out driver vent when ac on

this problem is caused by a defective air temperature control blend door actuator motor, it is about center of dadsh in air ducting, it moves the door that diverts air for cold from ac or hot from heater, you must remove the dash to repace it, about a 15 hour job fotr a home mechanic with a factory repair manual, nearly imposs without one.

u have a loss of vacuum to the ac mode control switch, this switch applies vacuum to diff vacuum motors to move air to diff outlets, dash, floor, defrost etc. either the vacuum line or vacuum resivior at the engine is leaking or the mode control is leaking vacuum.

I have the air on and when I press the gas the air stops blowing thru the front vents

If it changes to the defrost, you have a vacuum loss somewhere. It may have a mode door going bad also where the acceleration of the vehicle causes it to swing and switch positions.

Air conditioner not blowing out of panel vents on 2000 Lincoln Navigator. It's blowing cold but when you cut on panel vents it only blows out on the floor and out of the defrost vents.

sounds like the leakages that operate the flapper are misaligned or bent. if its electrically operated then actuator could be going bad

Lincoln navigator front heater cool

this is caused by the main cabin temp blend door actuator motor, in order to replace it or even check it the dash must be pulled out.
