Do you have an FM modulator installed? If so the added impedence is likely the cause of your AM problem. If not its probably the AFM (Signal Amplifier) is on its last legs. Check write-up here: Installing an FM Modulator in a 2005/2006 Volvo V50 (PDF format).

Try it and tell us news.

I had an S80 that did this to me. It turned out that the AM antenna had become disconnected. The antenna is integrated into the rear window glass among the rear window defroster elements. The connection was located under the rear A-pillar near the rear window. I'd check that first.

How do i tune Mazda Demio (2004 model) radio to Southern African frequencies?

fm frequencies are just that fm frequencies ( not japanese, chinese ,english or anything else
it is a range of frequencies in the fm band that local stations broadcast on
so all you have to do is to turn the tuner knob until you get 107 fm
so as you turn the knob you will loose 89 and it will go probably 90.5 , 100.20, 102.7 etc and if there is a station broadcasting that your radio will pick up it will come in and then fade out as you keep moving the knob
you may have to change the mode as there are fm 1 ,fm 2,fm 3 bands to get your fm 107 as it will depend on what megahertz 107 is operating on

I cannot play music through fm modulator by usb but it works i phone/

Select free channel or frequency on your radio and align it with the one on fm modulator depending on the type of radio used. Make sure the modulator has the power on. Does the cigarette lighter work, if not check it. make sure the radio receiver/ transmitter component or antenna connected as this need frequency to produce sound like a radio.

2. Turn off auto scan/FM mode.
3. Adjust the frequency to 97.00Mhz
4.Adjust the Filter T01 very gently (about 5 degrees clockwise) as to make the Quartz lock lamp light up.
5.Turn on auto scan/FM mode and check for FM stereo lamp

Have a car impoted from japan and need to know how to get local radio station frequencies like 93.7

You are going to have to buy a local radio from a junk yard or an after-market radio. The frequency range for broadcast radio is different in Japan than it is in the US (88 Mega Hertz to 108 Megahertz) in the US and 76 to 90 MHz in Japan. There is a device called a frequency range expander and you can find them on ebay sometimes but no assurances how well it will work.

Check out the website
http://www.epoi.com/japanese_car_radios.html
it is how to get a japanese car working in the UK but you will get the idea.

I just got a Jabra Cruiser and need to change the radio frequency to 88.1. Does anyone know how to do that? Thank you!

All that means is to put your radio on FM 88.1, and just wait. Jabra will find the exact frequency (mine is 88.7) and then it will work. When you want to use it to listen to music, just put the radio on 88.1 .
