How do i remove the side mirrors ? i would like to get them painted, but i cant figure out how to get them off. i dont want to damage anything... thanks

This is not hard to replace at all, most of the time the door panel doesnt have to be removed , just the small cover behind the mirror inside the door, the only problem is you must paint the mirror to match the car if its painted, i replace and paint mirrors all the time, buy one online and you will pay about 30.00 for it, heres a picture of it and you will not need to remove the door panel just the small cover that covers the mirroe nuts, the wire plugs in to back of the mirror, this is easy to do,make sure when looking for mirror you get what you have like if its heated or power. heres a picyure of your mirror good luck, and good day.

You need to remove the plastic plate that cover the mirror joint from the inside and undo the three bolts.

If your problem is over painting the mirror. Why not use some old used newspaper and some masking tape to cover it?
The mirror could be pulled out by pressing the inner side of the mirror while your pulling the the other side.

PAINT

There are micro switches located in the mirrors. A metal tab is broken on one of the mirrors micro switches. Take off the painted cover to your side mirrors and remove a black plastic cover that has wires coming out. The switch will come out with the cover. Inspect for damage. If the metal tab is broken off then a new side mirror will need to be purchased. Could be the drivers side or the passengers side, caution when removing the painted covers, the tabs break if your not careful with them.

If there is no damage to the door itself the mirror replacement is fairly easy on this model. Remove the inside plastic trim panel,it just snaps on. Disconnect the electrical connector remove the bolt in the center and there will be a screw toward the front of the door,remove it then remove the mirror.

If it has a painted cover on the outside of the mirror to match the color of the vehicle then that would have to be painted to match unless your old one did not suffer any damage then you could just swap it.It just snaps on also, and it may or may not come with a new mirror so I would ask when ordering it.

they just pop off on most but some of them they are part of the whole mirrior

most mirror glasses pop off. be careful when prying it off. if mirror is removable look inside and you can see if the painted portion is removable again most mirrors are removable

you can find these on ebay very cheap, remove caps on interior, should just pop off, unbolt the mirror and pop off, make sure you undo the clip on for the cord first so you dont have the mirror dangling and scratch the paint.
