SOURCE: 1999 Isuzu trooper wont start everything works

If you hear a click when the ignition is turned but no start its a high possibility that its the starter or the wiring going to and from the starter. Hope this helps! ~Derek~

SOURCE: where is my oil pump

The oil pump is in the oil pan. the lifters will continue to tick until they are properly oiled. Be careful not to use to thick of oil as this will only make the pump work harder and could further damage your engine.

SOURCE: ticking noises from lifters but a louder ticking

Hi, i think the clicking is the vavles and I would recommend having a carbon cleaning done on your engine as well to help solve this irritating problem.

SOURCE: why does my isuzu trooper 3.5 run at 1600 revs

The idle is controlled by a TPS-throttle position sensor, and when it goes out, this is one of the signs, the other sign is that it will not idle. The TPS is located on the throttle body, and is attached with a couple of screws and has a plug in. I would recommend that you unplug, and replug the TPS before buying a new one, as they can lose connectivity. If that does not work, then I would recommend that you get a new one. You can pick one up at any auto parts store.

How much for lifters on a 1998 izusu trooper? And will that make you engine nock?

Lifters generally make a tick, tick, tick noise. If you have a low tone knock, you may have more severe issues, or what you may have is heavy carbon build-up on the pistons, contacting the cylinder head(s). What I suggest first is to use fuel injection cleaner and add it to the fuel tank a few times. You can go to your local part store and see what other products they have, such as "Seafoam," to assist in carbon removal. Extreme conditions may actually require the removal of the cylinder head(s) to gain access to the top of the pistons to physically scrape the carbon from them.

I did a compression test and it came nack great! well that is if i did the test rite! there is a ticking in my engine is it just the lifters? if so how soon do i need to fix it before a bigger problem...

If it's just lifter tick, just do regular oil changes w/ good quality oil (10w-30 or 10w-40). I wouldn't be too concerned unless noise gets louder.

My car makes a ticking noise while it is on, what could that be?

The ticking noise is likely a sticky lifter. I've sometimes been able to resolve these by flushing the engine and adding half a cup of Marvel Mystery Oil to the oil.

I removed a 3.1 Isuzu engine out of a doner vehicle 12 months ago. Before doing so I drove the vehicle and was happy with the engine. I have just fitted it into my Trooper and when I started it, the engine...

I would guess that a lifter is kind of sticky after sitting so long. The cars engine may not of had enough oil and filter changes before you got it.
I was working at a auto shop one time and this guy brought in this car thats engine was makeing noise and even smoking some. The boss told me to make sure the engine was a quart low on oil. So I drained about 1.5 qts out. The boss gave me a quart can of Marvel Mystery Oil and told me to put all of it in the guys car.He told me to start the car and let it idle for a couple of hours, checking once in a while to make sure the car was ok. The car sat idleing and slowly stopped makeing any noise and the smoke almost completely disapeared.
Marvel is a heavy detergent that kind of flushed the engines dirt into the old filter. I then did an oil and filter change.
If I didnt see it I would not beleave it.I hope this helps you.
