There is a switch on the console between the drivers window switch and the drivers side rear window switch. These windows are fused right front-left rear and left front-right rear. The switches go bad quite often and that could be your problem.

Principles of Operation
The driver power window regulator motor is controlled directly by the master window/door lock/unlock switch (and its integrated "auto down" module). Power is supplied to the power window relay and the master window/door lock/unlock switch, and the passenger power window switch when the SEC/timer module grounds the coil side of the power window relay. The SEC/timer module will ground this relay when the ignition is in the ON position and will remain energized for approximately 15 minutes or until the driver or passenger door is opened.

Door locks unlocks


Sounds like the main wiring loom into the door has been damaged.
Check near the hinges, where the door swings, to see if any damaged wires. Does the door lock and unlock from the drivers side switch?

First read the owner's manual. If you don't have an owner's manual for your car, get one off eBay. You'll be surprised what you can learn about your Porsche from the owner's manual. Then, look for a button on the dash that locks/unlocks the doors. Or look for a button near the door handle that locks/unlocks the door. It may be near your window switch and look like a second switch. Lastly, see if there's a slide that locks/unlocks the door.

Power window switchs on 1996 gmc jimmy


Inspect or replace the window lock and unlock switch on the drivers door power window switch. There is a lock and unlock switch that will disable the switches to the other power window in the Jimmy. Check to make sure that switch is in the unlock position to have the other power window switch to work.

Rear side windows


This may be just a case of inadvertently hitting the window lock out n th driver door window switch by mistake. Check that first. Here's some background on window operation

Passenger side power window will not go down.


The van could have a lockout feature (some came with it and some don't have it) and it should be referenced in the owners manual. It will be on the driver's side master panel (the one with all the switches) problem is, I have no info on how to unlock it. Does the window work with the passenger switch or from the master panel? There are separate circuit breakers on each window to keep one from taking both out. With key on accessory, (the radio should come on) try moving the passenger window switch back and forth 3 - 5 times quickly to see if that unlocks it.

Odds are she hit the switches in some combination and put the lockout into effect. I'd take it to a dealer and have one of the salesmen show you how to unlock it. Since they aren't selling cars these days, it will give them something to do.

Power doors and windows won't operate


What you should have done a long time ago is buy the Chilton's or Haynes' manual for your vehicle - if you had, chances are you wouldn't be asking this question on here. And if you had checked your fuses, especially for your doors and windows - power windows and locks is my clue about the fuses - you wouldn't be on here either. Odds are extremely high that the regulators for BOTH the power windows and locks AND for several of them, would go out all at once. So go to the auto parts store, get the repair manual - (about $20) - and check it for the size of fuses you need -old style or new style, depends on ago of vehicle, and go to the register and buy and then go home and flip through it. And you want to get a code reader at some point in time too. Both the manual and the code reader will help you be better informed AND will help answer questions.

92 F150 power window and locks


try taking apart and cleanig all contacts first. make sure you are getting power to switch. Sounds more switches are going bad. They usually last about 5 to 7 years before they start going out.
