'95 Lincoln town car. Husband was driving uphill and the digital dash suddenly went dark. Radio is working and a/c is not. Exterior light still working and so are interior lights besides the dash

Could be a bad wire possibly chaffing or grounding out to to another wire or frame. Check your fuses. You may want to pull the dash out and check that wiring as well

My 2003 Infiniti M45 won't start but when I turn the key all of the lights come on

Even if your light come on that doesn't mean the battery is not dead. I would try jump starting it. Make sure all electronics are off. Radio and Air Conditioning etc..

What is wrong when you turn the key to start and the radio and all the instruments turn on but the starter doesn't click and the engine doesn't turn on even after trying to jump start it

Dead battery

Dangerous practice to try & jump a dead battery

The battery cables could be loose at either end or corroded internally

Most likely the battery is worn out, if original to car
since it was new, or the starter solenoid is worn

You do not want to jump any vehicle made after the
year 2000 or your asking for possible problems with
todays electronics.

You need a good battery that has been tested & fully
charged, then only jump with a jump pack, not another car

No power to truck, key locked in ignition

Is the battery dead? try charger, battery is okay but when you turn key nothing happens and key is jammed? Key won't turn? not much information you provided, but if key not working and battery is good sounds like the ignition cylinder has failed and needs replacing, i would not recommend for a novice as dis-assembly is and reassembly is not easy and requires a few special tools and if mistakes are made could attivate air bag, deactivate air bag or short electronic components

I have a 89 ford f150. put the key in, turn the key,, dash lights come on, but it will not turn over and start. I replaced the ignition switch but that wasnt it. any suggestions

Your battery may have a dead cell. It will still have 12+ volts and will run your dash lights and buzzer, but when a real load is requested, it doesn't have it to offer. The problem is quite common. The only way to know is to use a battery tester.

New battery & starter. Have lights horn radio and all other electrical with key in iniction dash lights up with all instrument lights, when key is fully turned to start truck all lights go dead and...

Assuming the engine has not siezed, there is a short in the starter circuit. Probably the starter/solenoid, but you can verify. Disconnect the negative battery terminal, then the big red wire from the starter solenoid. Wrap the wire terminal tom prevent shorting, reconnect the battery terminal and try again. If nothing happens this time, replace the starter/solenoid. If short is still present with starter unhooked, trace wire back from starter to find short. Let me know if you have more questions.

The battery goes dead and won't start even after turning off and back on within minutes. mechanic said there was a 2.5 amp draw somewhere. could that kill the battery so quickly? will replacing battery fix...

replacing the battery will not fix the problem,,,there is a 2.5 amp draw thats killing the battery when the key is off,,,,what i would do is hook up a volt meter or test light between the negative battery cable and battery and then start removing fuses 1 by 1 and see which one makes the light dimmer, you may always have a draw but it should be below 1 amp (radio and stuff always has draw)then once you find out which fuse made it dimmer youre gonna have to see whats on that circuit that could cause it,,,,,very time consuming,,,,,good luck

2006 I-280. Battery died, replaced the battery

I'll try to help. It sounds like the drivers window motor or drivers window control shorted and killed the battery. If you want to fix it yourself you should take off the negative battery cable before taking off the drivers' door panel.

Then look at the backside of the drivers' window control switch and see if anything is melted. It could have melted the lock button too!

Some vehicles have an electronic menu in the dash or information center. This is where the optionable controls for "honking locks" and "flashing security lights" is programmed. You might have to reset the controls.

If you do not have these fancier features check your fuse panel for burn outs. If you do not want to do it yourself go to a glass shop or dealer.
