your vsa is vehicle stability assist that works with the abs system, verify brake calipers for proper functioning, sounds like breaks stick and cant return efficiently after breaking, vsa is a traction control light, if both lights remain on without flashing, those systems are disabled due to a problem, scan vehicle for possible abs sensor malfunction

I have an srs light and triangle with ! On the middle lit up on my dash of my 96 saab 900s. What does this mean I can't figure it out?

The abs warning light is telling the driver the system has a problem and is disabled. You still have regular brakes, but not ABS.
The triangle is telling the driver the stability control is also disabled.
Each system uses the other to function, so if a problem shows up in one it will disable both.
You would need to get the car computer scanned for trouble codes to proceed.

Meaning of ABS light

On vehicles equipped with antilock brakes (ABS), a second warning light is provided to warn if a problem occurs within the ABS system. The ABS lamp comes on when the ignition is turned on for a bulb check, then goes out after the engine starts. If the ABS warning light remains on or comes on while driving, it indicates a fault has occurred in the ABS system.

What happens next depends on the nature of the fault. On most applications, the ABS system disables itself if the ABS warning light comes on and remains on.

My abs warrning light is showing on my bmw 316 and does not go out..

This should have no effect on normal braking. Even so, ABS will NOT be available in an emergency situation or when braking on a wet or slick surface.

CAUTION: If the brake warning light also comes on and remains on while the ABS warning light it on, it signals a serious problem. Your vehicle may not be safe to drive. The brakes and ABS system should be inspected immediately to determine the nature of the problem!

If the ABS light comes on momentarily then goes out, the nature of the problem is usually minor and the ABS system usually remains fully operational. Some vehicle manufacturers call this kind of fault a "nonlatching" fault (meaning it isn't serious enough to disable the ABS system).

Regardless of the type of fault that occurred to trigger the ABS warning lamp, a special "code" is recorded in the ABS module's memory to aid in diagnosing the problem. On some vehicles this code can be retrieved by putting the ABS system into a special diagnostic mode. The code is then flashed out through the ABS warning lamp. The code number refers to a diagnostic chart in a service manual that must be followed to pinpoint the faulty component. On other applications, a special "scan tool" must be plugged into the vehicle's diagnostic connector to read out the fault code.

Can the abs brakes system be changed to a standard system and how?

Anything that disables the ABS,pull the fuse, disconnect a wheel sensor, unplug the controller,
will turn on the ABS light and the brakes will be normal base brakes.

Both the abs and brake light is on and stays on what could be wro

Your ABS systems use a combination of electronic and hydraulic systems to modulate the brakes individually to prevent them from locking up. Antilock systems consist of wheel speed sensors, a hydraulic control unit (HCU), and an electronic control unit (ECU). Because of how complex the system is your computer does a self-test. If the check is successful, the ANTILOCK and BRAKE lights will go out within a few seconds. If one of the component of the ABS system fails to pass the test one or both lights will remain lit. One or both warning lights may also come on while driving, also indicating a problem. If just the ANTILOCK warning light comes on, some ABS component has failed, but the car still has hydraulic brakes. You or a technician will have to perform further testing to pinpoint cause and the proper repair.

Please let me know if this information is helpful. Positive feedback is appreciated. Thank You!

The grinding noise could the the ABS pump or your brake pads could to worn to the metal backing and grinding against the brake rotors. I recommend a inspection soon for your safety.
