There could be many problems if your trying to not guess at what it is have it diagnosed by a proffessional or by and OBDI scanner and save your self some money by follwing instructions in troubleshooting section of repair manuals. if you have replaced ignition components, and fuel filter and tested fuel pump it could be a sensor problem but to be sure scan it, purchase an OBDI scanner at local parts store or take it to shop with diagnostic services. Dont guess check it out for sure.

2000 mazda 626 driving down highway then just dies.. timing belt or fuel pump/filter?

By you saying the engine "Dies" I am going to assume it restarts.
If the timing belt failed the engine would not start again until the belt was replaced.
So it could be a fuel or electrical problem.

Hi,

The possibilities are too numerous to get into here.

Either take your vehicle to AutoZone for a FREE diagnostic scan or they'll loan you a scanner. This will enable you to pinpoint the problem(s) almost immediately.

All the best,

Ben

Engine shudders and dies trying to go from a red light

The engine has an electronic module where the spark plug wires connect to. Replace this and you will see the difference. Once this module heats up it will malfunction. After cooling down the car will start up again. hope this helps.

Check the Fuel injection system (injectors) and the intake manifold. It might also be wise to check the alternator as well as the starter coil and also the electronic distributor

2001 mazda miata mx5 it dies as if gas not reaching to engine or engine over heat... just starts small jolts and then conks out... cleaned fuel line professionally engine heat indicator is at normal...

This does not sound to me like an overheating problem.
Most likely ignition related, cam angle sensor on this vehicle has common fault, you may need prof help.
