Smoke smoke and more smoke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a problem with my 04 1.8 turbo its losing power cutting out and then blowing out heaps of smoke also brown residue on the dip stick and oil cap what is my fault?

Blown head gasket or contamination of oil from other sources. Time for a compression test to be sure....accordianman

if it starts up ok glow plugs and engine is ok
if it dies under load or blows heaps of smoke
look in to these possibles

if turbo-ed faulty turbo or internal crack
injectors
dirty air filter
fuel pump /filter
cylinder compression

I have a hzj 79 series land cruiser ute and it is hard to start when cold and blows heaps of smoke what causes this?


faulty injectors
have the injectors fitted with new tips and recalibrated
if it has a turbo , have it reconditioned

I have an 04 dodge 5.9 Cummins and it loses power and blows smoke every where and the rpms want go over 2200


That depends on what color the smoke is. Blue smoke means burning oil and you probably loosing compression therefore loosing power. White smoke means coolant

Seals leaking on turbo see if the shaft through the turbo has up and down movement if so replace turbo.

Could be head gasket, piston, or other nasty issue. Smoke isn't a good sign. Run a compression check, that may help indicate where the problem is.

time to rebuild motor or replace it. The smoke your seeing is pressure from the cylinder escaping around the piston rings into the crankcase and venting out the covers

Losing power, blowing black smoke and stals


my 2003 f350 6.0 started to have turbo lag when in a strain and i can give it more fuel and it will blow out alot of black smoke and it clears up does anyon have any sugestions on what it could be

2002 turbo diesel mazda bravo starts and runs fine but will not rev past 2500rpm it blows out a heap of smoke and will rev no further


diesels are not known to be high revving engines to begin with, anyways, it sounds like your turbo is malfunctioning, get it inspected or repaired
