May not be an issue. I owned a 93 lexus sc400 for 5 years and the whole time I had it till the car was distroyed in an accedent in april this year the lifters clicked from 146,000 to 212,000 miles. never caused a single problem. I was told by many mechanics to ignore it. just a thought

fuel pump sounds to be problem, though I'd replace air cleaner first to rule it out cheaper than pump (pump may have internal filters that are blocked)

your description sounds like master cylinder failure. But, get under the car and see if any action is happening at the slave cylinder, if not replace master and slave.

1993 Toyota Camry. Noise from engine!

This job can cost about $200/$400 depending who does the work.Yes you have to tahe apart the top of the engine, and the valve cover gaskets can be dobne at the same time.but these are two seperate jobs depending on which engine you have, sometimes they both have to be done when you do lifters.

Celica 1.8 st

Hi, check your valve lash your lifters are not hydrolic, on 7AFE motor valve lash should be done cold and set at 0.15-0.25mm for intake and 0.25-0.35 for exhuast.  On the 5SFE motor set cold also is 0.19-0.29mm intake and 0.28-0.38 for exhaust.

Location of thermostat on 1993 toyota celica st

there is another thermostat in the car, the one that controls the air conditioning.
i am presuming you are talking about the engine thermostat right? so here it is .

trace the hose that came from the top portion of your radiator. at the end of the hose is an aluminum manifold where the temperature sending units are located. if you remove this manifold, you can see your thermostat laying on top. it is supposed to control the flow of water from the engine to your radiator. replace it and in putting it back, i suggest you have a sealant ready for the right function. a water resistant and temperature resistant sealant that could be use in water manifolds in the engine.

good luck and tnx 4 using fixya,

drcool
